I want to be successful but not famous. It’s exhausting. If you say nothing people drag you. If you clarify…dragged. If you apologize, fix, correct, and be humble… dragged. As a society we WANT to be angry. As a person of color in leadership it’s so exhausting being blamed for things you have NO control or jurisdiction over Or things you didn’t know about. Danielle Brooks accidentally spilled the beans about them not being fed as well as them not having their own dressing rooms or trailers and having to share a single "space".....whatever that is. And how Taraji fought for them all in order for things to me fixed. Also Taraji told New Times about how when she showed up to the filming location they gave her rental keys and you'd her to drive herself yo and from work. She went on to explain that it's industry standards to have security and or a driver. And that you don't just drive yourself after being on set for possibly 16 hours. It becomes a liability issue.

It doesn’t matter what she says, people will not admit they were wrong about this whole beef thing and these comments are proving that true. What she said here makes sense. Establishing and negotiating salaries is not amongst the responsibilities of her role and is something that the studio, WB in this case, offers, negotiates, handles and pays salaries. Now if Oprah had a studio, then yes it would be on her. So essentially, just like the actresses are employees of WB technically, so is Oprah even as a producer on this film, but she leveraged her status to help them.

@@alicegauteng2358 exactly you, she knew exactly what she was getting. And if her 'team' couldnt do better then thats that. And for some time its been a given that the business of film production has always been shady, but today level of greed had more than doubled down on Studios screwing over production personnel pay. The truth of the matter is, compensation has always been unfair. The business of filmmaking involves a team of people, each of whom has a specific purpose crucial to achieving and final product, so why should a director or actor be payed multiples more than the rest of the team, when they are all needed to create an end product. what is a writer without a director without actors without production crew without post production and that that put the project together. No that's not what he did. He looked out for himself and knew what he needed to do to keep the gig. What? Was he gonna call out Oprah? He was paid to be the Team Oprah guy and allow Oprah be the "bigger" one in all of this. BS! Gale did what Gale does, defends Oprah. Oprah is an over achiever and has made a space for herself. She is Hollywood like that and has a role as to how to keep black folks in their place because "Warner Brothers", in this space needs hur, (Oprah) to be the House N-Word and keep the complaints under a wrap because black actors and actresses are never going to earn what white stars make as that would be too much like right and fair. And White supremacy don't play like that and sho don't pay like that either. Ask the Viola Davis aka the Black Meryl Streep. Please don't get it twisted. Taraji P. Henson is still saying, "There is a problem here". In her performance of Katherine Johnson, one of the three brilliant African American women at NASA, the 20th Century Fox's Hidden Figures, the 2016 historical drama pointed out that, "There is a problem here", same problem in real life in 2023, INEQUALITY! While there was no place for the black women to pee in the building where Katherine Johnson worked in. The irony is that was a minor problem that had to be resolved in 1966 so that she could effectively be in proximity to do the calculations for the trajectories for several missions for NASA including the first American into space. INEQUALITY is still an unresolved problem impacting Black people in America. Please let this sink and stop diminishing the role of Hollywood handlers who are used to silence those who speak up for themselves as being "difficult". And the, "They should just be grateful to be here" part Oprah plays because she was given a shot to be successful as well as a role. Please don't get it twisted. I believe Mo'Nique! Just sayin...

History lesson. Oprah was NEVER received well by the black community as they felt that she catered to the white audience in the 80's. We never gave her a chance before we sat in judgment and didn't watch her show. We were too busy watching Jerry Springer and Maury Povich promoting TRASH television. Oprah became rich and famous because of the WHITE viewers supporting the Oprah Winfrey Show and the sponsors recognized that and as a smart businesswoman, she NEGOTIATED deals that made her rich and that's how she became a millionaire and subsequently a billionaire..Oprah has donated over $300 million to children in Africa, saved schools in Urban Chicago and Mississippi, countless charities for children of color amongst other philanthropy. Oprah being a black woman doesn't owe ANYONE anything because she has worked to earn everything that she has amassed..
