Danielle Brooks accidentally spilled the beans about them not being fed as well as them not having their own dressing rooms or trailers and having to share a single "space".....whatever that is. And how Taraji fought for them all in order for things to me fixed. Also Taraji told New Times about how when she showed up to the filming location they gave her rental keys and you'd her to drive herself yo and from work. She went on to explain that it's industry standards to have security and or a driver. And that you don't just drive yourself after being on set for possibly 16 hours. It becomes a liability issue.

@@justacutie5201Regular people drive themselves after a long shift. 😂😂 I think it's bs complaining when real people are underpaid for real jobs. To me it's diva behavior, she needs to be humble about her fame and success. Her team doesn't seem to do their job if she demands more, she should fire her team then but stop complaining. Seems ungrateful to me.

They are speaking out against the studio you dingbat!!! The studio makes the decision, not Oprah! The producer, the director, the actors are all salaried!!! Everything is negotiated with the studio with the actor's respective teams (agents/managers), NOT with Oprah. Taraji, Fanny, and Danielle have ALL said, when they needed something, they picked up the phone and called Oprah and it was handled. That's how it works. I've watched almost every interview with the cast and never once have they said anything negative towards Oprah. In fact its been nothing but positivity. It's sad how people have twisted Taraji's words against Oprah.

Bullshit. 1) Oprah, it was so cold that you switched places during the picture? Taraji learned in for the picture and you didn't put your hand on her shoulder. 2) The other day, Oprah made it a point to mention she only got 35K for the movie and that if you love something, you'd do it for free 3) She avoids explicitly mentioning that she wants the best for Taraji and that she supports Taraji's cry for pay equity.

It's her moment to own up to her behavior and the way that she's been treating people. Instead again she's just brushing people off... But you got to think, People aren't going to make this up and go against Oprah... There's absolutely no benefit in it for them unless it really happened.

It doesn’t matter what she says, people will not admit they were wrong about this whole beef thing and these comments are proving that true. What she said here makes sense. Establishing and negotiating salaries is not amongst the responsibilities of her role and is something that the studio, WB in this case, offers, negotiates, handles and pays salaries. Now if Oprah had a studio, then yes it would be on her. So essentially, just like the actresses are employees of WB technically, so is Oprah even as a producer on this film, but she leveraged her status to help them.

I would have personally made sure you had the best food, room and board, security and whatever you needed. Why did this CAST have to be treated the way they were. @@alicegauteng2358 exactly you, she knew exactly what she was getting. And if her 'team' couldnt do better then thats that. Studios are always fickle about black projects to begin with, and they do make their expected earnings but the ongoing idea is that they wont. And for some time its been a given that the business of film production has always been shady, but today level of greed had more than doubled down on Studios screwing over production personnel pay. The truth of the matter is, compensation has always been unfair. The business of filmmaking involves a team of people, each of whom has a specific purpose crucial to achieving and final product, so why should a director or actor be payed multiples more than the rest of the team, when they are all needed to create an end product. what is a writer without a director without actors without production crew without post production and that that put the project together. Our problem is that we idolize those deemed the heads of the project when in fact all the parties are required and all deserve their fair share.

Oprah is right, she wasn’t responsible for the pay. However, I’m side eyeing Oprah because this isn’t the first complaint related to being treated unfairly where Oprah was in the crosshairs. I can’t imagine she doesn’t have the pull to advocate for taraji instead of just saying “it aint my problem” which is really what she said. Oprah has still accomplished so much and I respect that side of her.

Sadly it was the Black media and bloggers that took a lie and spread it. Even though Taraji's problems were with the industry, not Oprah, it did hurt the movie. Taraji talked about the wage inequality during the promotion of "The Color Purple" and ignorant bloggers that care more about being the first to drop a story pitted two Black women against one another, and it is sad. This is why we as a people will never unite because we are more of a threat to ourselves than Donald Trump and the government.

History lesson. Oprah was NEVER received well by the black community as they felt that she catered to the white audience in the 80's. We never gave her a chance before we sat in judgment and didn't watch her show. We were too busy watching Jerry Springer and Maury Povich promoting TRASH television. Oprah became rich and famous because of the WHITE viewers supporting the Oprah Winfrey Show and the sponsors recognized that and as a smart businesswoman, she NEGOTIATED deals that made her rich and that's how she became a millionaire and subsequently a billionaire..Oprah has donated over $300 million to children in Africa, saved schools in Urban Chicago and Mississippi, countless charities for children of color amongst other philanthropy. Oprah being a black woman doesn't owe ANYONE anything because she has worked to earn everything that she has amassed..

I know my opinion isn't popular, but honestly, I wish they never called Taraji to be casted in any capacity for The Color Purple. I don't know if you can see it, but Fantasia is very uncomfortable. And watching Taraji manipulate her is a painful watch. I've seen this episode before play out in my own life. My visual is a little sharper at this narcissistic "behavior" play out. Drop truth; manipulate truth; then apply the passive/aggressive move to hide the true motive....the "kick Oprah in the head" movement. I see the devil at work trying to destroy a woman who's hands have fed behind the scene. I was that woman before.

Fascinating she addresses the Color Purple issue which affects her. How about Monique, Chapelle? Crickets. I thought so. How about Oprah involved with Jeffrey Epstein. How about her friendship with Harvey Weinsten. What you say. Crickets. I thought so. Where smoke there is typically fire.

She addressed this issue because it was timely. As for the Monique, I agree that she should have done a better job of addressing their issue. As for Weinstein, who gives a fuk if they had a friendship. Do they have one now? Did she know that he was abusing these women? Do you have any proof?

Anyone that is in her business needs to try to be be as forthcoming as possible. She has failed. She has has held people accountable, while she has not. Ask Tony Braxton how Oprah treated her. Ask Dave Chapelle.

Oprah lied!!!! She said that they were trying to keep warm on the top of the entire state building yet Oprah's coat was wide open. Who tries to keep warm with your coat wide open?? 😮😮😮😮😮😮 Really Oprah smh.

The numbers don't add up Ms.O. Taraji said it herself. Mo'nique and others have clapped back saying that Black women still have to fight for their rolls in Hollywood.
