Oprah Winfrey Says Tina Turner Told Her She Was 'Ready To Go' In 2019

Oprah Winfrey is recalling the last years of friend Tina Turner's life. The media mogul joined Gayle King on Thursday's "CBS Mornings" to share their memories about the late icon's strength and perseverance during multiple health issues, and Oprah revealed that Tina had told her in 2019 that she was "ready to go." Oprah added that despite Tina's ongoing medical challenges, her husband Erwin Bach's devotion helped her overcome one obstacle after another. "[He] never gave up," Oprah said, as she and Gayle noted that Erwin donated one of his kidneys to Tina back in 2017.

I saw a documentary on Tina Turners life. It was very interesting. To have a person like her partner in her life makes life worth living. Having been a neglected child to know that other people have the same feelings makes my depression better. She was a good singer, a good dancer. Wow the woman was fit. Who can dance like that. her death must've been particularly hard for Cher, because Cher is LITERALLY her oldest friend...going back to the days when Ike's Revue, wasnt making ANY money. He & Tina, were making a name for themselves with appearances all over the country, but they weren't making "bank". And that was in the very late 50s and very early 60s. Cher's known her since the 60s. Ms Turner?...God, we are going to miss you (tears)
