came here to say this exactly LOL I lived 70 miles south of Nashville for 25 years and worked just 20 minutes south of Franklin/Brentwood. This was a yearly treat we did with the kiddoes for awhile at Christmas.

Pro tip: park in the Dave and busters part of the opry mills mall and walk over to the hotel. I do this every time I go! It’s not that far of a walk if you park in the back of that parking lot.

I agree that you absolutely must visit the hotel again at Christmastime!! It’s decorated inside and out, lights, Christmas trees, a larger than life nativity scene outside. Absolutely beautiful!

The amusement park was awesome. Locals miss it a lot. Christmas at Opryland hotel is amazing. There’s amazing lights and they always have a event going on with ice-skating and music. Also stay in Franklin next time and visit the historic downtown. Super cute and lots of amazing food.

When my kids were in Marching Band they stayed there several times for a band competition at Vanderbilt University. As parents, WE stayed elsewhere, but we visited on Sunday before we left Nashville to have lunch as well! Love the Gaylord hotels.

My husband had a conference at the Opry Hotel a few years ago. So we brought our sons and made it a mini vacation, since it’s not far from us in Cincinnati. It was so fun! The water park is incredible! Very expensive, but one of my favorite little vacations!

I love the Opryland Hotel. Have stayed a couple times in the last 15 years. It is amazing at Christmas time. So beautifully decorated and lots of fun activities. Totally recommend with the kids.

Growing up I went to the Opryland amusement park several times. My cousins lived not too far away. My last time there was for a band competition in high school in 1987. We played on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry and my chair was right on the bit of wood flooring that was taken from Ryman Auditorium when the Opry moved to the new facility by Opryland. They also opened the amusement park up for the bands at the competition to enjoy privately one evening. The hotel looks like it's been expanded tremendously. I don't remember it being that big.

Welcome to beautiful middle TN (but I'm assuming y'all are back home since I just watched a Jessica video)! Our family and us live about an hour away from Nashville (my family to the north and us to the east, respectively). Every Christmas, our family goes to Opryland Hotel to look at lights and walk throughout the atrium. The lights are stunning!! You MUST go in December! We've gone every Christmas since they started the lights and decorations. As for the amusement park, many of us who grew up going to Opryland are still upset they closed the park to build a mall. 😢 At least we have the hotel to go to. ❤

I can’t speak to the hotel since I haven’t been, but we went to a Grand Ole Opry show back in December and the coolest part was GARTH BROOKS HIMSELF showed up to introduce the singer. Tyler would have loved it lol! But it was really cool experience. And Nashville itself is neat. Since it’s so close to you guys, you should go back sometime, try to catch an Opry show, and visit the Tennessee State Museum!

We love the Gaylord’s! My husband always has a conference for work at that one and the one in Dallas at least once a year! That water park is awesome! They also have really amazing Christmas ice displays too!

Glad to see you in my hometown, Nashville! Spent a huge part of my childhood through having my own kids at Opryland theme park. Spent my honeymoon at the hotel back in the 70s. Lots of memories on that property!

When I was a kid, we lived in Nashville and the highlight of every summer vacation was when all 5 Carson kids would load up in the VW Bus to spend a fun filled day at Opryland! It was a theme park that has since been dismantled. I'm pretty sure most of the rides went to the now defunct Riverside Park in Agawam, MA (which is most recently a Six Flags), because a year later Riverside was expanded with a ton of new rides that I recognized from Opryland.

I live near Nashville and have never been to opryland, but it looks pretty😂. It's a running joke amongst us locals that we'll do anything we can to avoid the over priced, over hyped, bro country new wave Nashville that now exists. I also told my family I have to really love you to take you to or from the airport at this point so if I tell you to uber you know why😂. I-24 is awful🤦‍♀️ and I've lived in/driven in NY, NJ, FL (the howard Franklin & I-4, 'nuf said 🤪), NC & CA so when I say I-24 is right up there, it is yucky lol.

Love Opryland! I was there with some co-workers last week and we also went to a show at Grand Old Opry and did the back stage tour. Highly recommend if you go back! (This is coming from someone that is not a country music fan!)
