I agree in soldering it But I would use a butt connector that has that built in. You squeeze it and then you heat it

Hey from the beach in Horry County. Good vid. OPT7 is a great product. Had a tailgate light on my last truck for 7 years and was still working when I sold it last week. Just bought last week a new 2023 Ram 2500 Big Horn Night Edition and got the same tailgate light you got. Sequential blinkers. Putting it on tom after this rain. With all the back up sensors, trailer detection and camera I have to hard wire into the taillights themselves per OPT7. The computer will not recognize the plug and play option. Your's looks really good can't wait to get mine on. What lake is that in your vid ? Just subbed my fellow South Carolinian...

I remember it being pretty easy for the most part. I can't remember if there was a push tab or not. If I remember correctly, I think you just press down a tab on the connectors.

I’m putting on this same light on my 23 Silverado with the same harness and I have the light strip in place right now. I’m following along with your video, but when I pull the red tab down on the factory connections it’s really difficult to disconnect them after I pull the red tab. Any advice?

I honestly don’t remember them being that hard to pull off, just be careful, all these stupid crazy connectors they put on trucks break easily.

That’s the beauty part about the easy connect harness. You don’t have to take apart the reverse light at all. You just take the white wire from the light bar and connect it to the white wire from the harness. All other lights don’t come with an easy connect harness from my research except the putco blade, but who wants to spend $400 on an led strip when you can get this whole setup for less than $150.

Hope you had better look than me. That light was the latest & greatest a couple years ago when I purchased one. Mine failed in 3 months. Started doing weird stuff. The turn signal on one side started coming on when you pressed the brake ect ect.

Sorry I just saw this comment, I try to get back to everyone. The easy connect harness makes it plug and play. You can’t just plug it into the trailer connect. I actually tried that with another cheapo tailgate light bar that I had to send back.

@woody22660 it goes in-line with the factory truck wiring. And the quick connect white wire connects to the white wire from the LED bar. Very easy to connect this bar together.

That's a great question, because I know some of the 2022 models I believe were not the refresh. However, they do say on the site that it will work with a 2022. If it won't work with yours I am sure they would take it back.

Why dont you just plug into your trailer light its either a 4 or 7 pin plug in that way you dont have to mess the the plug in un plug all the harneses

Seems kinda self explanatory but i guess i can explain, that way you don’t have to keep unplugging it to tow a trailer. And nobody wants to have a wire wrapped around their bumper and look ugly. This is gonna look way cleaner

It does not work properly plugged into the 4 pin. I have not tried plugging it in with the adapter plug, but you would still have to wire the reverse light in either way. This makes for a cleaner look and yes, I think it would get annoying unplugging and plugging in if you pull and trailer.

When i put my truck in reverse, only 1 of the 3 led bars turns white. Is yours the same or are all 3 supposed to turn white?

Ok, I double checked tonight and it is only 1 strip that lights up for reverse. It’s so bright I thought it was all 3 to be honest. So you should be good.

@zachattackcustoms Wow, ok. Every video I see, yours included, looks like all 3 strips turn white because they're so bright. Guess not. I still however am having issues with my truck (2020 F250 super duty KR) giving off alarms saying "trailer disconnected", "turn signal issue" etc. From what I've read, the way to fix this is to buy the quick connect harness. However, on OPT7's site, the only harnesses available are for F150 Fords. Im not aware of any for F250, nor do I know if it would be compatible.

Does your light light up when u unlock it mine doesn’t and when running light on only one light lights up?

Yes it comes on when I unlock the doors at night and it all comes on with the DTRLs, but I do have it hooked up to the fuse tap of the fog lights so I am not sure if it comes on without the aux when you unlock the doors. I actually didn’t check that. I would check the connections and make sure they are clipped in good. Then I would reach out for a replacement if you still have issues. And if they give you any issues let me know and I will reach out to them.

I did notice that the running light seems to only use one strip of the LEDs. My guess is that it is to give a difference between the running light and brake light to drivers behind you.
