We can't make excuses for people's set ups. "What if they can't afford a second webcam? What if they can't afford another lamp?" Well, if you can afford a $300+ competitive deck, than you can afford a proper set up to take place in a highly competitve tournament. Also if you're caught cheating, you should be banned from all OPTCG events for a time period, with a second infraction being a perma ban from compettive events, in my honest opinion.

Yeah idk why he's talking like a 1080p webcam, a ring light and a tripod is back breaking. If it was we would not have a new content creator on KZbin or tiktok every 30 seconds.

Some people I know borrow expensive cards they otherwise can’t afford from their friends to be able to compete. I don’t disagree with the sentiment but I do know people who have access to cards due to friends but can barely afford groceries. Although the exception doesn’t make the rule.

From my experience like others have said they may not own the cards. Like I know there are many people in MTG that may be a pro at the game but borrow lot of expensive cards. Just because you are playing a $300+ deck doesn't mean they own it. I get what you're saying but you can't assume that they can afford a settup or the deck they're playing.

@@merphyreadjojosbizzareadve4312 Oh no I get not being able to afford the physical cards (online client by bandai won't fix yet that either look at the dbs online client) What I am referring to is a decent setup. It can be had for less than any deck in her game, it just makes no sense that we allow people with potato cams, a candlelight with black sleeves on a black mat to play in webcam events lol

I personally like to play the game tabletop, but for that I just play my locals or via webcam with friends who live far away. I refuse to to play the big online tornaments because I know I will be mad with cheaters. The real question we should be asking is: "If Bandai made an official online client for the Dragon Ball tcg, why they did not make one for one piece yet?"
@davidogburn53745 ай бұрын
The biggest immediate fix is actually taking cheaters seriously.

While here I would like to address the second major red flag, which would be the fact that the Banned and Restricted list hasn’t been effectively used for over a year. The other being the fact that Japan is a set ahead of us, so the people who overwatch the meta growing and see what cards are being played and being the issue, did never do a preemptive action. You can so easily prevent the problematic meta from ever becoming a thing. The game feels abandoned. Products being released does not equal to the support of the game and that’s something people can’t get their head around.

Well rule I can think of right away is that if it's not your turn player hand should be lay down on middle of mat or top of their playmat until to resolve a counter attack. Then when holding cards should be place middle of chest and above the mat not far back to edge of table.

As someone who gets anxious, and have possible adhd, who gets finicky hands I refuse to play online tournaments in fear that people think I’m cheating

I live in the midwest US, no stores with official events for miles and online is the only way to play currently. Still no product available though.

The solution is to stop playing webcam events, and which to in person only. That is the stance I am taking or create an official simulator

The only thing is that if we get a client like the DB one, it's also not a solution to spend another X amount of money just to replicate my IRL decks of choice, especially for people who regularly play multiple strategies and don't like to stick to one deck. Of course, this will always depend on the model, but the overall history has been either exteremely predatory or free and in the case of free, it's usually unofficial. If we can get official support or atleast acceptance for the current sim or a version that is like it (which is highly, highly unlikely) then it'd be perfect. I don't like the fact that I'd have to keep an eagle eye on my opponent whilst also trying to play the game, asking for handsize every 5 seconds, doing multiple unnecessary calculations and so on whilst still having 0 control against people with basic card handling skills that can easily stack. Online is a joke, especially when there's no qualifiers and no proper way to keep things monitored when it matters. Disqualifying someone after the fact doesn't change that I (and many others in total) lost 2 of my X games to cheaters, which completely warped my overall tournament score. I move a slot or two? Wow, please don't be so gracious. I could've topped but instead I'm now 178th instead of 180th, amazing!

It’s cause it isn’t an official Bandai creation So they would either have to purchase it out right from the creators or pay them a set amount to use it Which I just don’t see them doing

-not official bandai client -doesnt incentivise selling physical products -sim has bugs, connection issues and some times cards or effects don't register. -toxic players using chat

Someone who is willing to cheat in a webcam event is willing to do so in a paper event as well. Eliminating the opportunity for people to play in less populated areas is absolutely not the solution
