I agree about the Human Alliance figures. They were some of the best figures for a collection because they had better scale with the leader figures. Human 'Defiance' Barricade is my personal favourite.

What paint? Aside from the silver and the head, he looks worse. Everything is in a plain color with none of the details being painted and just looking more dull.

Gary Tomás Constanza Martinez That's how it was in the movie. Look at stills of DOTM where he appears and you can see that except for the car bits he's pretty much all gray and black with some minor coloring.

The head isn't the only thing was painted silver like the chest, shoulders, and legs. The only thing that isn't painted was the blue speakers and the yellow highlights. Everything a plain color? The original has a drab gray color that looks nothing like the movie.

I really wish they had used that muted metallic blue on the parts the previous version had gold to add a little more color, but it does look terrific. However, I do wish he had a visor, inaccurate, yes, but I liked how that looked on the previous one.

Bro soundwave looks amazing in robot mode the color and everything in it man he looks amazing, this is why I love transformers, the movie and even the toys are the best than any other toys like it just gets me that people can actually make these toys I thought this was gonna be impossible but omg! Man this looks awesome! I owned the original figure a long time ago. I loved the mold but the paint was something that bugged me. This looks so much better and I just put my order in for one. Great review as always!

Great review. I'm really really tempted to get this version since I also felt the original's lack of silver paint really was the one thing that was missing. Also I just realized the odd colouration in the original... as you mentioned, it was to homage G1 sound wave! The blue, gold, face deco. Good intention but misplaced....

that´s a great Reissue of this human alliance , all of this line thats goods paint and great presentation, I personally was tempted to buy the Asian Premium Series pack, where barricade and soundwave come, because I still could not have the soundwave human alliance, but fortunately I restrained myself and when I saw the previous photos of the MB line takara do not hesitate to ask My soundwave closed eye. Regrettably I could not get the Optimus Prime Lider class from the ROTF of this MB line of takara. I hope to get it on ebay, well, it seems a "golaso", a total success acquiring it, looks great because they have painted. A strong hug from Peru, Optibotimus, excellent review and comparison with the initial human alliance. I personally did not know why they had painted so soundwave human alliance, with blue, yellow and celestial details and it was because those are the colors of the toy that appeared in the deluxe line of ROTF of the time, just notice I realize. And thank God they took those colors. Greetings.

This paint looks so much better and more conserved and professional. I agree that they should've at least included laserbeak in a similar deco, but I could care less about the human figures. It's a shame that he still suffers being dwarfed next to the other ha figs but that's perfectly understandable. I got to see both the camaro and the sls amg in person and after seeing that camaros are bigger cars, I realized that it's nearly impossible to create an accurately sized Soundwave. The resulting figure would either be tall and scrawny or short and bulky. I'm glad they went with the latter.

Anthony Moua Only the American releases were canceled. The toys themselves did come out, it's just US stores didn't want to stocked the tailenders of DoTM. That's why we didn't get the original version of this guy in the States.

Only thing about Soundwave being a Mercedes in Dark of the Moon that I don't like is even with the prequel comic "Rising Storm" from IDW, we still don't really have any explanation why or when he made the change from being a satellite/jet.

Very nice figure, much better look than the original. Personally, I would have preferred a to get a Deluxe class to go with the rest of my collection, but to get him on-line, the prices can be outrageous! Just like the Wrecker Leadfoot, another Deluxe that was difficult to get or way too expensive. But the silver is quite beautiful for Soundwave, cool review!

As a relative expert of human alliance soundwaves' I'm sorry to say that your human alliance gray one is most likely a knockoff and you can tell by how loose the joints were and how the outside toes didn't touch the ground. Still an awesome review and a cool figure. Great video as always. I love watching your reviews

So I am one of those shlubs who actually imported the original Human Alliance version of this and I have to tell you, it has been my favorite transformer for a very long time. (until i started getting the Masterpiece Beast Wars which was my intro series). But anywho, I absolutely loved this guy and he is still on display above my fireplace. With that being said, is it REALLY worth it just for a repaint? I have never been one to get repaints of the same mold as the appeal for me is transforming these bad boys back and forth. The repaint looks fantastic and I wouldnt even be typing this if i wasnt considering it. I think this is a MUST have for anyone who didnt import the original, but being that I already own the mold, and I am not too crazy about repaints, would you still recommend it?
