I know Bay's movies suck but I grew up with them and I have a nice nostalgia (I'm 19). When I was a kid I absolute LOVED this design for Megatron but I hated the toys because I wanted a more accurate figure. It's been 10 years but finally I can make my inner child happy! 😁

Man I feel the same way. Loved the movies because I was a bit too young to fully understand the plot, but I initially got hooked on the bay films because of the opening scene in tf1 where blackout ambushed the desert base. I was instantly hooked, and I NEEDED a figure of blackout in my life. So glad they finally came out with a leader figure

Yeah, but Soundwave didn't get the respecc he deserves. He had a cancelled deluxe class DOTM figure as well as a cancelled human alliance DOTM figure. His ROTF deluxe figure is trash and WAY too small. And the Movie Advanced toy is Soundblaster, and the Movie the Best toy is not of the DOTM deluxe class figure, but the Human Aliiance figure, which towers over the other deluxe classes, and the vehicle mode is incredibly oversized. If any Decepticon needs a Studio Series toy, it would be Soundwave, in proper colors and in a mold similar to the human alliance but deluxe class sized.

That's a cool enough representation of Megatron, I have the Leader class ROTF Megatron, but his color scheme seems much nicer than on the Studio series version, I was not aware that Megatron is bigger than Optimus Prime, I thought they looked almost at the same size in the movie, but it's been a little while that I've seen ROTF, nice review Paul!

Also Optibotimus, the gun turrets are actually from promotional photos of Megatron's tank mode, but for some reason they weren't in the movie as you stated. That's where they're from. Overall, great review! Does anyone else think that third-party add-ons to give him the wings and big two thrusters for the flying tank would be asking for too much? XD I have no problem with the figure as-is, but still, just posing the question.

I mean, someone's making a 3rd party updgrade kit for Leader Grimlock so I could see them doing more kits for the other figures. The Grimlock kit has a whole new arm and tail mechanic and also gap fillers for the Dinosaur mode. I'd love gap fillers for the sides and a normal arm so you could have him without the cannon arm. I'd also love new hands for Starscream that are articulated.

What’s funny is that Hasbro had two figures of this Megatron at Toy Fair a few months ago. One was in robot mode, and the other was in tank mode. The figure that was in tank mode did have a nice silver paint job, so they must’ve abandoned the silver at some point. Rather unfortunate, because the silver look amazing on the figure.

honestly this might be my favourite megatron design. everything past movie one was really good imo, but this takes everything good and bad about movie one and just. perfects it. gives him the perfect amount of cybertronian kibble to make him look more like a transformer, keeps that cool spiky look but makes it way cleaner and easier to look at and parse, and comes with a sweet ass fusion cannon. this toy does it so much justice!

Saw this guy in Walmart and snapped him up immediately! I really enjoy him and his TLK voyager mold and I find this guy scales with my HFTD battle blades Optimus and original ROTF starscream (with tattoos) pretty well, so I’m glad I picked him up. Keep doing what you’re doing!

I have this Megatron and here is my Tips for the side view. With the gun on the sides, turn them inside before attaching the arms so that you would have a less uglily gap.

By the way.. those canons wasn't seen in robot mode but if you seen the cg version of the vehicle mode those canons are there which makes this figure even more accurate.. and in a split second you can see them when he transforms right before the forest battle

There were several Decepticons that got ripped apart to give Megatron "more parts". I think most were Constructicons, I guess there are multiple versions of one character. I know one killed was Scrapper, but he's also used to create Devastator

I got my Megatron yesterday and I’m just now watching this video and we have the exact same view on the figure. With the back leg panels that keep falling off they’re bendy so that makes it easier to make them stay properly. I just had the idea with the cannons earlier today and was wondering if someone else had the same idea. Does work but I really don’t mind or take notice of the gap. Did think the cannons look out of place too

Yeah I never Bought the ROTF Leader one because, of the arms and it wasn't perfect so I've kept my 2007 leader class Megatron he have been in my collection for 11 years. but I replaced him for the last knight leader.

I grew up with the Bayverse so I love every one of the transformers design. Never grew into g1 just can’t seem to find a way to like it. Don’t care what people say we all have different opinions so don’t try and change mines. Every one of bays transformers was great, except the 5th one.
