The little jet is supposed to be on his arm in robot mode. That's how it is in Masterforce. He does use it like a drone too; he yells, "MEGA CHILD!!!" and it launches off his arm and flies around shooting and ramming people. Something tells me that Overlord being released close to the end of the Titan Masters line isn't a coincidence. Because, as you point out in your review, he kinda looks goofy with two heads jammed into his chest, but he looks great wearing two Prime Masters!

I think that front of the plane detaching is really nice as kind of an "escape pod" feature for the titan master if the jet gets shut down, or as a stand-alone jet for the battle station - really nice play options I think!

They're more there to reference the Godmasters/Powermasters, and the fact you can fit Prime Masters in there is a funny coincidence.

Because that's where his Godmasters/Powermasters go and you can put Titan masters in there to homage it...Because Hasbro didn't make proper Godmasters/Powermasters...the coincidence is that Prime Masters also fit and happen make to make more sense than a couple of heads.

I just finished watching the SGMF series today. It's over 40 episodes so took me some time. I liked it. It certainly has some cool characters. Power of the Primes will bring more characters (Westernized) from the show so looking forward to that line too.

The reason the front of the plane goes onto the chest is because if you buy 2 overlords you can combine them just like in the manga

Overlord was in the Japanese series Transformers: Chou-jin Masterforce (Transformers: Super-God Masterforce); Skyshadow aka Black Shadow was actually in the series after, Transformers Victory...which also had a wicked cool Sixshot retool named Greatshot (different chest area, wolf head replaced with a rhino head, different robot head)...as a side note, Takara is going to be doing a LG-EX Greatshot in their Transformers Legends line, retooled from Sixshot. As for the removable tip of the jet nose...I think that was supposed to be some type of drone.

Optibotimus the phase sixers were the most powerful deception group from the idw comics, consisting of overlord, sixshot, and black/sky shadow.

Always thought that was odd, given Sixshot is the only Six-Changer. Megatron only ever really needed Sixshot. Although Overlord was fantastic in Last Stand of The Wreckers.

Point one percenter basically means their sparks are green instead of blue, indicating they're more powerful than normal. Known point one percenters include the Phase Sixers, Optimus, Megatron, Fort Max, Scorponok, Grimlock, Ultra Magnus, and Shockwave.

I didn't expect a review of Overlord from you, I've seen the toy on shelves for a long while now, but it is quite different from Sky Shadow, quite a remold, and it looks great! I guess the Titans Return toy line is ending soon, there are still a few deluxe class you haven't reviewed yet, like Slugslinger and Misfire, but I'm sure you'll checking those out soon enough, cool review!

Overlord's jet mode looks exactly like the original Cobra Night Raven 1 of the coolest jets ever made in G.I. Joe in fact little probe looks like the scout craft that attached to the back of the Cobra Night Raven. I wonder what happens if you combined the Night Raven from Overlord with Sky Shadow's C.A.T. (Cobra Attack Tank) maybe the Robot mode would be Destro.

I'd like to get this figure. Problem is it hasn't shown up anywhere in retails in my area. It isn't even on Amazon. The same goes for some of the Titans Return figures. Waves 4-5 aren't in retails either. Plus, the prices for Blitzwing and Octane are disgusting! They're almost up to £60 or higher! Whoever's in charge of the UK division of Hasbro... GET YOUR F***ING ACT TOGETHER!!!

+Junha Yoo he kinda did. the original Rewind, that is. Not the one we know of today, which is Rewind from an alternate universe. It was revealed that he actually killed Rewind when he was in the escape pod with him before Chromedome blast it to smitherines, when he and Chromedome battled one another on the Necro planet. He even explained his brutal killing method in details, such as holding Rewind's head in between his teeth and ultimately chomps it.

Overlord has always been a Partsformer. In the original G1 Masterfoce series he was in his upper torso actually turns into a jet and from waist down he turns into a tank. I guess he's count as a Duocon? Then again he still has a base and a carrier mode(the tank and jet joins together). Masterpiece figures usually tackles the toy's transformations to make them show-accurate. This TR figure pretty much covered his transformations precisely show-accurate so I'm not sure what else Takara's supposed to integrate into the actual toy to make it MP-worthy, besides giving better articulation, better deco and actual Godmasters, Giga and Mega.

+Alpha Aufa Agreed. I suppose all I'm thinking is whenever Takara decides to start making MP Triple Changers, if Overlord would be part of that line. Although I am thinking MP Starsaber might be the only Takara G1 figure at this rate. It was a very odd line to be fair.

+pious83 yea Star Saber appearing out of nowhere really confuses the hell out of everybody, and Judging by the ports under his soles we'll most definitely be getting a MP Victory Leo next. Hopefully they'll tackle Deathsaurus as well and more of the other Japanese series exclusive characters such as the Brainmasters.

I have the mastermind creations carinfex he is insane great amount of articulation and wepons this on the other hand is meh don't get me wrong it is great that they made him but it's honestly worth to much money for what you get it's a okay mold of him but it's missing a lot I know hasbro dosent do the full extent on there toys like fully articulated hands and alternative heads and swords and stuff for this guy but it's okay it would have been better if it had a hinge on the hands so that the fingers can move a little bit I am not going to buy this version because I have the best version of him already I think hasben hasbro has to step it up a bit just a little bit more 😜

really not a big fan of the super-easy transformation even the G1 version. Hasbro took the opportunity to make an actual leader-class toy with a character that transforms super easily so that they won't be taking the blame for it. Hasbro has had histories of larger toys with crappy transformations and they used Overlord and took the opportunity. really not a big fan of that
