I just picked him up on ebay for £50, don't normally buy toys but it is a great model and checking the voyager class to this he is quite a bit bigger than voyager is more movie and colour accurate. It's a massive upgrade, would have liked to pick up the sculpt but not paying £5k for it lol.

Dotm prime and shockwave are actually my favorite trilogy designs. I mean I “like” the others, but two designs from the trilogy really got me before I became a fan. I’m still mad shockwave wasn’t the main villain of the 3rd film. I mean if megatron stayed dead after the first film and starscream was in charge. The. Shockwave would’ve been a great successor to both. Plus he and sentinel would’ve made more sense as a team.

I feel like the original movie toy line got the Deluxe, Voyager and Leader class perfectly. UK prices used to be £10-15 for a deluxe, £20-25 for a voyager and £40-50 for a leader class bot. The sizes of them were perfect for the size they needed to be, Megs and Prime (Brawl too) were noticeably larger than the rest but not obscenely. And the voyagers were larger than the deluxe classes, but again, not by an obscene amount. By the time the third movie released voyager class toys were the size of deluxe class ones and leader class became the size of voyagers - but infuriatingly kept the same prices, and even increased in some lines! Wish things would go back to a simpler time.

Just got here from SS-49 Bumblebee and am more convinced to get this Shockwave as my DotM collection. The price jump is more than likely because of the figures, the excess plastic and the detailing and Wheelie and Brains, as well as the paratrooper, more than likely costing a lot just to make the molds and get the paint right.

Big respects for Hasbro and Takara/Tomy on making Shockwave in all of his glory. Probably the best one and HUGE improvements against the voyager Shockwave. I'm planning to buy him on Amazon, along with Soundwave and the 2007 Camaro Bumblebee. For this Shockwave, it's very cool that this is like a reserved SS Megatron. Interesting.

Wheelie and Brains are soft not for durability, but for ease of removal. If they were not flexible, those tiny figures would break every time you tried to remove them from the mold.

I got the figure a few weeks ago, it's well done, I'm happy with the result, but the only complaint I have is the excessive use of rubber, the could've used plastic a bit more specifically for the hand and the claw/blade. But overall I love this Shockwave figure.

Very nice figure, they did a great job replicating the character, I still have the original Voyager DOTM Shockwave and he looks nice, but this one blows the old one out of the water for screen accuracy, no doubt about it, but it seems that this Shockwave has the same problem as the Siege Leader Class Shockwave, should be priced as a Voyager, not as a Leader class, still, a very cool review, Paul!

This is a very high-quality figure but I'm kind of disappointed of how he is too small.. I always wanted a leader class shockwave that is as big as the old ROTF leader optimus. It just doesn't make sense for Shockwave to be smaller than Optimus prime since he is supposed to be way taller.

I wouldn't say Shockwave is quite a retool of Megatron; he shares engineering and a couple parts, most notably the thighs and those long slabs for hinges that connect to the body. Kinda like how Titans Return Chromedome (and repaint/retool Getaway aka Breakaway) shared engineering with the Combiner Wars Deadend mold or how Titans Return Triggerhappy (& maybe Highbrow) shares engineering and a couple of parts with Scourge. And while the Studio Series is a *massive* upgrade over the original DotM Voyager, the arm blade being a hollow, soft rubbery plastic is an equally massive DOWNGRADE...why didn't they just reuse the Voyager's!? It was flat, but substantial & kinda solid.

Lore wise, driller is a giant wyrm that shockwave beat and trained as his personal pet/minion. The fact he subdued it despite its size says a lot about how dangerous shockwave is. I don't feel this guy is complete without driller. #justicefordriller

this Megatron is just really big for a modern voyager. Shockwave is still a bit small for a leader but he's not as small as it seems when compared to Megatron. Megatron is an outlier.
