Optical Mineralogy Improved Uniaxial Optic Axis Interference Figure

In this video we focus on generating uniaxial optic axis interference figures for uniaxial materials. Check out the video Optical Mineralogy Uniaxial Materials first, as this is an addendum to that video!
We start with a bit of review for uniaxial materials and then generate uniaxial optic axis interference figures for synthetic flame fusion (Verneuil) corundum, natural calcite, and natural quartz and compare the interference figures generated. Note that the quartz interference figure shown is only for thicker sections of quartz!
Our plane polarized light is vibrating up-down (or north-south).
