Optical Mineralogy Isotropic Materials

This video explores isotropic materials in greater depth and describes how the optical properties that we see isotropic materials exhibit in the polariscope are a result of these materials having a single index of refraction. Isotropic materials are further subdivided into two groups: those which are of the isometric crystal class; and those which are structurally amorphous.
