I’m gonna try communicating with my inner circle the way y’all communicate with each other. Asking these questions out loud and hearing the actual responses rather than allowing your mind to fabricate a response is an extremely smart approach to that aspect of your mental state.

I love how you guys talk openly about your mental state and emotions. Its comforting to know others are dealing with the random BS of life too. I also like how you guys talk about it, but you don't TALK about it. I need a therapist where I can casually laugh at and mention what I'm dealing with. The deep dive into my psyche makes me feel worse all the time, but just acknowledging the basic feeling of it helps me a lot. The casual vibe without getting to deep is the perfect balance. Dude therapy should be a thing.

Oh man I related to so much of this. Especially the "does anyone really like being around me? Am I annoying?" kind of thoughts. And I have no reason to think that way, like I've been in situations where I've gotten to hear my friends talk about me when they don't think I'm listening and it's never been anything but the nicest things, so I know they care about me, but pretty much every time I'm talking to anyone that I consider a friend, in the back of my mind I'm telling myself things like "god you're annoying, I bet they can't wait for you to leave." But how y'all talked about being anxious to meet other people in the scene, is exactly how I felt approaching you guys at DreamHack Dallas a few years ago. Like I know y'all have met so many people that you wouldn't even remember me, but I swear at least once a week I think "god I bet they thought I was cringe, awkward, annoying, etc." Loved this episode, still so glad y'all are back to doing these regularly! Nah I definitely feel y'all on the social anxiety. It's weird cuz I work in a restaurant and people are surprised that I get like that, but idk talking to ppl in clubs/bars gives me anxiety. It's also not every time, it's the vibe I get that night from people too.

I really feel like the fly cast will be a great behind the scenes type podcast in a few years. Feel like I get to understand how this industry effects peoples mental and as someone who’s always been passionate about the industry it’s so cool to be able to understand how normal y’all are. I'm not mad at your summary of the 5gods. Armada, PPMD, M2K, HBox, and Mango being the 5 gods. Hbox just won GOML in July, and got 2nd place at SSC 2022. Mango won Smash summit 11 in 2021, and just won SSC literally yesterday. Just making a small note that 2 of the 5 gods still play, place well, and are still producing wins.

Man, I was recently thinking about how players have evolved and how competitive everyone is now. I remember being a small kid and being able to just play Halo 3 for fun but also be able to turn it up and talk trash to kids and adults lol but now it seems like I’m on the other end 😭 seems like once you start getting into higher ranks it’s like everyone is playing the game like it’s their job. Which could be the case for some. And I think that’s one of the reasons why the players have evolved so much. Everyone has access to get the best equipment/internet now and they know they can make a career out of it. So a lot of people are just grinding to be able to see if they make a career out of gaming or they’re just trying to be good enough to sustain an audience of Twitch or whatever. Of course there are other reasons why players have evolved so much but that’s just what I was thinking about.
