Placements are something you do in Clash Royale literally every time you place, yet is still something I rarely see people discuss. They can be one of the most important factors in whether you win a game or not, so today I decided to discuss the theory behind them to help you guys know where to place your precious units! Little tip on melee placements its best to stagger the placement a little further away as to keep ypur troops from damage as they're deploying

In a pinch for sure! However, if you can you always wanna kite other melee units as far as possible :D

Something important to mention. For Lava Hound decks, it is important to place him at the corners. This because of Air pathing. Also repeat this placement with other Tank Setup decks like Golem if you find out that the opponent uses a building.

As far as making a video that includes every interaction. There are 8,464 possible 1 on 1 card interactions (not including heal, mirror, rage, and clone as those don't do anything to opposing troops). That would be very...informative

Note that for bandits and mega knights, there is some leeway where you can play them a little further without worrying about charge. Melee vs flying that targets, you can kite, but it’s situational Also, some stuff about spells not mentioned (clone, Rage, Freeze, tornado, equake) they all are exceptions to the spell rule in their own ways, like earthquake being primarily a building damaging card technically mirror too, even if it spawns troops and buildings

1:45 no u place the melee unit in the middle against a mk and fisherman and against a bandit u place it at a distance where it doesn't dash but has to walk to hit the melee unit

Another useful tip is placing a ranged unit one tile on the opposite half of the arena, so he doesn't get attacked but still does damage or place an ice golem or other card that attacks building to lure melee units away

by placing melee unit in the centre against a bandit or mega knight, the enemy unit will dash to the melee unit, allowing both crown towers to attack it.

I do have something to say about melee placing. It’s not always the best option to place your melee card in the middle of the princess tower walkway, your opponent may have a magic archer and may get a few hits if they do place it in front of the melee. (Edit) So I recommend 1 tile away just so that your safe, Left or Right.

Actually, Bailey, there is some value to using a river mortar placement. Defensively it doubles as a kiting tool for building targetters and a counterplay when they get in range. Offensively, it forces the enemy to use their ranged/aerial units - often in predictable locations.

With melee units you can play the card one tile to the back so that the bandit,mega knight etc don't get the first hit :)

Last season i was 6980 and tilted to 6800 and was hardstuck... The "optimal placement" for the elixir golem night witch, or golem night witch players last season are simple, golem in the back night witch behind it lol. Legit was denied from 7k by some guy with the ign "JavaScript" who was using only elixir golem nightwitch battle healer at the time....

Okay okay the Barrel placement is general, it's a high chance your opponent doesn't have Nado - against other counters, surrounding the tower is best. Graveyard's placement wasn't specific, just onto the tower. Keep an eye out for my next video, I'll go super in depth into Graveyard!
