This piece for me IS Sherlock Holmes...but I see Holmes and Watson waking early on a Spring day having been summoned by Mycroft....they leave Baker Street and head for the Diogenes Club...Watson of course will be woken at the beginning by Holmes poking him with his single-stick!...."The game is afoot". This music is their journey...under the bright Spring sunshine....through London's streets as hackney cabs zoom past. A world of excitement and endless possibilities.....

My daughter played guitar at a school concert last night. The school's dance group performed to this piece of music. I'm not a fan of dance but, for me, they were superb because I got how their moves flowed with the music. Zoe, Optimist is a brilliant composition. It moves me. I cannot find words superlative enough.

I love how you compose with small elements that come together in layers that weave a larger tapestry. I also love how versatile the cello is an how you use the whole instrument as your palette for color and texture. Always a pleasure to listen to you breathe life into sound.
