A boost converter is optimized electromagnetically (EMC-aware). For this we use a continuous GND plane, place filters correctly, reduce the switching speed and try the spread spectrum technique. The individual methods are explained so that you can improve your DC-DC converter.

Interesting video! Could I have a question if those methods are effective with buck convertor?

Sure. A good layout, the use of right filters, and slow switching - all these methods can also be applied to a step-down converter in order to decrease EMI.

Nice video. Demonstration of effects of ground plane. I am not a fan of spread spectrum techniques. It is only spreading the same level of noise over different frequencies. You are only fooling the measurement equipment. Not lowering noise in my opinion.

The main idea of spread spectrum techniques is not lowering the noise, but spreading the noise frequencies over a larger freqzency range to avoid freqzency peaks.
