Why price of the option goes down with passage of time?

As time passes price of option will not suddenly go very high in short time. So, there is less chance for an investor to make money by buying that option. As a result the option price goes down.

Sir I have some doubt 1:when share price increases "option value"also increases as u said Then what option values really does means?. Is it option premium?? 2:if interest rate will increase how share price can increase. Which interest rate is this ?? Pls clarify it
