Isnt it Vega directly proportional to impljed volatility. ? Vega = IV/100. Then the volatility smile chart and vega vs spot price chart should have same orientation. Right?

Implied volatility as expressed annually in percentage terms of the asset price, indicates a one standard deviation change in price in a year. An asset, in terms of probability, should be in the range of one standard deviation of its original price 68% of the time. It will end up within two standard deviations 95% of the time and within three standard deviations 99% of the time. I think it would be really helpful if you could create a video as to how to calculate the historical volatility in the markets and compare it with the implied volatility, as beginners trade blindly without any proper knowledge of volatility in the markets and how supply and demands really affects the implied volatility during those event phases. That aside, the service that you’re undertaking in educating the folks with invaluable information about the stock markets is highly appreciated. Keep up the good work, Sharique. God bless you.

Regarding video time 28:40, for spot price moving up gradually, you mentioned that selling put is the best option. Instead, can we sell a Call option as we can benefit from the decrease in the value the the premium of the call option buyers due to theta?

No . since spot price is going up, call option premium tends to go up even though theta tries to hold it back . So in this case, theta works in opposite direction to call option premium. While in the case of put option, when spot price goes up ,theta acts in the direction of put-option premium . So selling put option is good when iv is low and stock price is going up gradually..And time is nearing expiry

I think because of the effect of theta.. It will overcome the effect of IV.. and the low IV , premium also reduces.. The statement in 29:15 depends on so many factors..
