I felt that passionate after reading The Black Swan, and I feel your excitement about Maestro Taleb's ideas. Great video, you captured and communicated the message perfectly.

Clarified optionality very well . Thank yiu. Summary of the 4 heuristics Optionality Dont worry about big theories. Understand some heuristics or rules of thumb, these are: 1. Rank things by optionality, don’t rank by average payoffs or level of consequence. rank by what gives me the best opportunity. Go for the one that present your lots of choices lots of opportunities. 2. Prefer opened ended to closed end payoffs. You want closed end downsides and open ended upside. Look for situations where the upside is unlimited. 3. Invest not in business plans but in people. People WHO are smart and can take advantage of opportunities. They will teach you how to take advantage of opportunities. 4. Make sure you are barbeled. Ie make sure the asymmetriies are favourable to you. That you are not exposed to Negative black swans but only to positive black swans.

When I was reading "Antifragile," Heidegger and Wittgenstein kept popping into my mind.

Incredibly well taught 👏. Really helped cement more of Taleb's ideas for me. Thanks for the video.

I've been digesting a lot of Nassim's ideas only recently, so the timing is perfect for some reinforcement!

What basis is left for morality? Maybe our lack of control isn't argument against importance morality in life but against particular kind of moral theories, consequatialism and related theories? #JustAsking

There's some kind of composition fallacy here. If intelligence is synonymous with asymmetry+rationality, then some variable sets are equals. So, for example, much asymmetry and a little rationality or much rationality but a little asymmetry. In the latter case, it seems just like pure intelligence with a few options, making best use of a few options. The latter case seems available to anyone in the accidental asymmetric position. So while optionality seems maybe competitive with intelligence IE it can finish the equation of pure intelligence, it seems to be able to do that for any quality. Such as, for example, pure strength. In this case, asymmetry+muscle-mass= strength. But this would be like saying, Mr. Burns with a bulldozer is stronger than Rainier Wolfcastle. Technically, but mostly it's because his asymmetric control of and ability to purchase a bulldozer makes him stronger. Or, rather, wealth defines power. Therefore according to this view no capacity is not rooted in a wealth of some kind, as opposed to a disposition of some kind, and we net disposition as of subsidiary importance. But from whence comes Rene Descartes?
