Ultimately both options buyers & options sellers want to make money. Sellers are always stronger due to their large capital & have more influence on market movement. Stronger one always wins. Yes here & there weaker one (buyer) wins sometimes. This drags him deeper into the game and he gets caught. It's like any other addiction. 1 peg light kick, 2 pegs pleasant kick, 3 pegs no sense, 4 pegs blackout. How can one compare LIC with F&O. LIC is taking a risk on the life of a human being. F&O is inviting small investors to take a risk on their small saving.

Yes you are correct In one contract option trading - one is losing and opposite side winning who is seller taking money of buyer. But normal trading its not like that seller gets profit and buyer gets profit by using the products. But in option trading its no . General equity market is okay.

When I was in Saudi Arabia ( in Nineties mainly) there was an Insurance Scheme run by the Saudi Government ( GOSI) for workers working there. The banks there didn't pay or charge interest (actually it's interest that's forbidden in Islam) but still they paid me some return on my account with them and still got return on the loan extended by them......... they called it " profit sharing " !

I am not satisfied with your answer sir. I know market is not gambling but I know it's legally ethical but ethically unethical. Earning money should come from real work. Not from playing with digital money. 80% of money in the market are from common people only 20% of money are from richest guys. Because only rich people like FII and DII play with 20% of their money which affects 80% money of common people's money. Those FIIs and DII s are the only people playing the real game it's not the common people. FII s and DII s want to rip most of the money from the market to become multi billionaire which is the reason for all the ups and downs.. it's not common people who shakes the market for their own benifit. You need to wear a common mans glass first. You are wearing a stock market glass.. so your view is totally different.. I agree if I make lot of money then I will also speak like you only. If hedging is for safety , why people are doing hedging without really holding any stocks? 90% of the people buy and sell the options without really holding the stocks! Its all gambling to make easy money. ! Selling options should be banned if they don't have deliveries in their demat account.. thats the only thing which is creating huge losses to the common people. Even though Insurance companies make lot of money atleast they provide some real service but stock market is not service. Its money making mechanism created by rich people..!! Trading is ethical but selling without having the deliveries in the account is gambling and unethical.. Most of the sellers will not have deliveries in their demat account.. the thing that ive learned is that the role of stock market is very very important for the growth of our economies. investing in the stock market means investing in a company and by investing you provide funds to these companies so they can operate and provide better goods and services to the masses.The fact is that people invest in these companies in the stock market knowing that there is a vibrant and liquid secondary market where they can offset these positions.Because of a stock market capital goes to places where its utilitised efficiently.When it comes to participants in a market there are 3 the first is a Hedger the other is arbitrageur and the third is a speculator.People would argue speculators turn the market into a gambling game however people who come with an intent of hedging themselves need a person who wants to enter as a counterparty and thats why speculators are important in a stock market.Finally arbitrageurs are people who make the market more efficient by eliminating any mispricing that exist. Products like derivatives help make these markets more efficient and help people to pursue the objective of hedging in a more efficient manner.This was a just something i felt like sharing. This

Hi sir, Why there is time decay only for option buyers? Why there is no time decay for option sellers? Its very simple. People with huge money ( sellers) must be safe 80% of time but people with less money ( buyers ) must take all the risk of losing their premium 80% of time. Thats the basic logic of options market. Rich people( option sellers) are safe most of the time, poor people are (option buyers) at risk most of the time. Even if the strike rate is achieved option buyers will not be in profit due to time decay! How this can be ethical? How this can become ethical! Sellers are paying more margin So they are safe 80% time. Buyers are paying less premium so they are at risk 80% of time! So money decides who must be safe most of the time! How this can be ethical? People are selling without having any deliveries in their account! How this can be ethical? Are the option sellers holding the deliveries of all the derivatives that they are selling? The answer is No ! They are all gamblers. ! Is it ethical to put a poor people at risk 80% of time? Unethical activities done legally!

Until a year back, I was part of the majority crowd, which says that stock market is gambling. Its been a year since I have started to invest in stocks and now I am convinced that it not gambling, as long you know/understand where you are putting your bets. Additionally one point sir! I feel, gambling is different from trading in the manner of odds! Gambling odds may or may not be in one's favour so much. In trading, odds are much likely in one's favour from the view taken and hedging applied perspective. The same is not available to gamblers who take a view and can not hedge the position. If that is available in gambling ( not sure) then, it is not really gambling. Against the odds is what i believe gambling is. I may be wrong...but that is what i have understood.

You can have 48% - 52% loose -win( on trades) yet make money if you managed money and risk well and hedged properly. Then the idea would be to win big when you win and loose as little when you loose! But in hear i dont know how many people by NIFTY and then to protect their investments buy OPTIONS. I think majority of people who buy option do not have underlying instrument at all. So in a nutshell, it is their money which is coming to you. Dont feel bad about it and give all the wrong examples here. Investment in ethical because price of stock is the reflection of earnings. If profit/earnings doesn't change, price should also not change. But Trading is totally unethical because no matter profit goes up or down, price of stock can go in opposite directions. For some people to earn money, someone has to loose. Jivah jivasya jivanam. In trading, if profit of a company remains same in 1-2 days, price of stock can change. money lost by people=money earned by people.

Most of the people buying options without underlying asset . If they don't buy options , liquidity will be very low , Option sellers can't survive . In live scenario life insurance is provided with small premium for covering unlimited risk , same way if I pay small premium can I get unlimited profit , only possible in lottery ticket

Stock market is a legalized gamble opened by the Govt. where you will pay taxes, charges to Govt. and instead your hard earned money will be put on risk to feed some non-hard-working useless people and their family members. Small beautiful fishes have no value in the see, they are for big fishes. Low class poor people have no value in the country but high class people can not live a single day without them. Small investors (option buyers) have no value in stock market but big investors can not earn even a single rupees without them. Sometimes I feel how these people go to their bed and sleep happily thinking that today I made profit of thousands or lakhs. Are they not similar to those terrorists who kill innocent people and think that - oh today we killed this much of people ??? Because that is treated as great achievement by them.

Hello sir, option chain waste of 💰, I tried many time with lots of fundamental strategies, but I always lost my money, sometime I get profit, in one shot market it it back, in last 2 year capital still same, its hard to save my capital, one thing is wondering me whenever I enter to any position it start going down, this is my last 2 years experience. As of now I earn 67k and and lost same. I recommend people to stay away from option, just invest in good stock for long term. So those who own say reliance stock ..will buy options to hedge their position if the stock price falls ok fine. But what if there is a bull run and the stock price goes up really well, then why still trade in options?? why do it through out the year all 364 days?

Don't agree with calling options as risk mitigation, you yourself said there's no real asset for this risk, so its just gambling. Play with each other with what you can afford to loose.

People refuse to accept that, it's a legal gambling and there's nothing wrong , he feels about it, instead of beating the bush around. .. what's wrong in accepting you're a millionaire professional gambler/trader . To be a professional gambler/trader, you need skills, not luck. That too insanely skills, which common man struggle to attain. option buyers and option seller both make money and both lose money but only few people make money in option buying compare to option sellers only way to make money is knowing what you are doing otherwise you will lose money in both

One of the reasons I watch all P R Sundar videos is because he comes across as a wise , grounded, soft-spoken and patient man with a quirky sense of humour who is genuinely interested in imparting education. I faced same dilemma i the beginning of my career with Stocks, F&O. But then I learned the system and understood it as it is. Remove these speculators and saw this as business like insurance. Note I'm totally comfortable but do with my appetite not beyond limit.
