In today's episode, Apurva continues the conversation with Yogesh Nanda. In our previous episode, Yogesh explained how we can identify trends in stocks with pivot points. Today, we will dive deeper into this technique and see how to trade in options with pivot points and how they can save us from situational losses.
Yogesh emphasizes following a process-driven approach to maintain consistency in trading. With this, you can generate wealth even in a falling market as system indicates the right entry and exit points.
Yogesh mentions that the biggest challenge an options buyer faces is the theta factor. Thus, he has defined a method stating what you must do at various points of futures and options (F&O) expiry. He shares his observation that you can buy naked call or puts only during first twelve days of the month when theta decay is lower.
When the expiry moves closer one must enter only spread positions by selling one or more options for an options you have bought to reduce the impact of theta decay. He also suggests keeping a stop loss for stocks to decide the exit point from options.
He has also shown examples of trading with pivot points on weekly and monthly charts of Bank Nifty, M&M, Indiabulls Housing and RBL Bank.
We're certain that our both the episodes with Yogesh will smoothen your process of identifying entries and exits in stocks as well as options with the help of pivot points.
