Tony, 1) I have traded SPX options and what I found was that CBOE charges exorbitant fees of its own which can go as high as 20% and sometimes higher. These fees are on top of broker fees; the CBOE fees eat away at your profit and if you lose an option, you take a bath; the loss turns out to be a very expensive loss. as you lose cash in addition to the CBOE fees you paid. I wrote a detailed analysis to SEC on this subject. I also communicated with the CBOE sales director. 2) Are you saying as you say in your Qnad A here at 1:06:48 of your video that there is no CBOE fee on trading XND options as it is on SPX options?

Question to test your knowledge. If you buy a XND put option when it is trading at 130.80 and it expires at 130.00, how much money you get when the option expires?

Margin should not be the same for naked positions. I mean the non-margin buying power requirement used for options trading. Index options trading has a lower non-margin requirement, compared to non-index funds/stocks. Am I correct?

Tony, you mentioned that you do NOT have to close out short options because there is no risk of assignment on these options. But, just for the monthly NDX options which are AM settled, shouldn't you still close out short options just to avoid that overnight risk? Is there a rule of thumb for when* that might be a good idea and when you can say it is so unlikely that it is not worth bothering? (*"when" meaning in terms of how far from the short strike things are at close on Thursday; the further the strike, the less you need to worry about overnight risk.)

Main difference is index options cannot be exercise except at expiration where as once your stock option is significantly in the money it will be exercised so you loose max profit.

Hi Tony great webinar as usual! At 1.02.27min you said that Selling the same day expiratiin Credit Spreads on Index options can be very risky. Can you please specify what exactly you mean since there is no risk of Assignment? And whould the same week expiration be just as safe as weeklies? Thank you very much

Speaking from personal experience, and it may not be at all why Tony brought it up, but there's no time to recover AT ALL if things don't go your way. Happened to me on RUT (Russell 2000 index) and NDX, I tried to be clever a do a one-day in-and-out trade and A) I racked up "day trader restriction" warnings (I was one more day trade away from my account getting restricted and B) I had a max loss because the market tanked that day (I was bullish, and I tried to go as much as 5% out of the money, thinking the index wouldn't go down that low... well, I couldn't even close one of the spreads because it went so far against me, couldn't even convert into a condor and sell calls to re-coup some cash). Starting to use Tony's plays (usually six weeks out) for indices as well, mildly bullish on SPX, expiring mid-june, doing well. I love the benefits they offer over their ETF counterparts.
