Hey Tony, great video as always. Given all the questions about covered calls shooting up in price and the regrets people are having - I’d answered it this way - At the time you sold a covered call, you chose the strike price you’re willing to sell the shares at. If the stock stays below the strike price you’re happy to have collected the premiums for free. If the stock lands one cent below the strike price you’re even happier because you collect the premium and your shares are worth full value while being able to keep your shares at the time of expiration. The only pain scenario is if the stock goes way above your strike price and you lose out on those gains. Human nature makes you forget about the two happy scenarios and really remember the last pain scenario. This is selective memory at its finest. Additionally this is no different from equity plays where you sell your shares at a price and then the stock rise significantly and your regret selling at a lower price point. The reason why covered calls errantly feel different is because you are still owning the option until expiration so people are constantly reminded of their loses as they continue to hold (with equity you sell it so it’s easier to move on). Just some psychology to explain our thoughts process for covered calls and cash secured puts.
