An immediately attractive, congenial theme begins this work, and the second subject continues in holding your interest. The second movement is lyrical and exquisite; the third movement is quite affecting; and the fourth movement finale, an inventive set of variations, brings this delightful sonata to a satisfying conclusion. So where has composer Rabl been hiding all my life? He sounds like a composer worth exploring.

Nice, I was thinking Griegesque :)

@@chazlenrook795 the first theme has definitely a Schumann character, maybe an allegro movement from one of his symphonies or other chamber works of him and at 0:25 this is definitely something inspired by the third movement of his piano concerto in a minor. Also Grieg had a Schumann influence in his music so that's why.

@@chazlenrook795 maybe the opening of the third symphony. It might exist something even closer but doesn't come to my mind right now.

I find the opening theme incredibly Dvorakesque.

I don' really hear why you all think this, and I guess real music experts wouldn't find the depth and character in here anywhere near Schumann (or Griek or Dvorak), but I also don't really care. This is nice and pleasant to listen to, and that's what counts to me. No 'great music' but that's not always necessary. Thanks for the upload.
