Yeah they all are amazing. But this story arc was just so epic especially towards the end when you se everyone almost half dead trying to finish the job. (When they were on Christina, Destroying Nirvana etc.)

The Nirvana arc was great and all, but the biggest problem I had with it was the way the writer kept tacking a tragic childhood onto each of his villains just to make the viewers feel sorry for them. That was very conflicting and confusing for me since I'm used to anime villains just being irredeemably evil.

Actually, it wasn’t to feel sorry for them. The tragic backstories are shown to explain why the Oracion Seis were so driven. But the arc made it very clear that it was not an excuse or justification for their crimes. One of the biggest things I liked. Because you see how all of them except Brain get up after they were taken down and exhausted because they wanted to win that badly. Well except Richard since he didn’t really last long as a bad guy. But the other four made it pretty clear already.
