In just 3 min see how to get and set page items leveraging javascript on both the page level and in a dynamic action on a button. Oracle APEX provides a ton of flexibility for developers who know javascript. Anytime you program, especially for the first time in javascript there are few core items you need to know. Specifically how to log to the browser console, how to fire javascipt in the low code toolset and most importantly how to both get and set variables. This video tutorial show cases the bare bones basics for a new Oracle APEX developer to output log messages leveraging apex.debug.log. To get variables leveraging both the Oracle APEX javscript API apex.item("P18_HEIGHT").getValue() and the JQuery API $v("P18_WIDTH") . It also shows how to set variables via the apex.item("P18_WIDTH").setValue("222") API and the jquery $s("P18_HEIGHT","222") API. the demonstration is run inside Oracle ATP in the Cloud on a free tier account.
