Hi, Thank You for creating detailed videos on setting up NW clients. Your videos on NMDA Oracle client setup has really help. I understand it is difficlut and time consuming to setup RAC environment. But, can you share any documents which has the steps to configure NMDA Oracle RAC client. As simple 2-Node Oracle RAC setup example should help in understating the nmda condiguration. I'm looking for NSR_CLIENT, NSR_SERVER, ORACLE_* , NSR_* parameter values in nmda configuration file, name of NMDA client resource in NMC (node name, node virtual name, oracle scan name) , etc. Also, I've went through the 'NetWorker Module for Databases and Applications Admin Guide', but it is not clear to me. Oracle backup recovery and restore is a DBA's expertise. Try not to interfere there, if you get the RMAN script its just about making sure that the backup piece for the respective date and time are available, the restore should work without any issues.

@@crazyrov since we are taking backup from networker, some steps should be there to restore as well right

@@varunrajptk9472 Yep, as a backup admin our task is to make sure that the backup requested and the media containing the back is available. My suggestion is that you do not agree to own the restore of a module backup. The ownership has to be with the DBA's/Application owners. This said, if you still want to see how that works I can create a video for it, no worries.

You can do it using RMAN. I had lost my environment as my system crashed, will try to build a new env for Oracle and complete the series on Oracle.

If you mean the client initiated backup. This is done using RMAN.

For manual backup configuration file ends with .cfg and for backup script should be .sh or its not mandatory?

The backup script need not always be a .sh it can be a perl, bat or anything that is supported by the native OS. As for the .cfg files, havent tested using the file without an extension. But I dont think that matters, however keep in mind that changing the file extension might cause issues in identifying the correct file specially when the original admin has left the team/company.
