It really makes me angry when the publisher sacrifice card stock for the better box. The first edition had a crappy thin box. I wish they would realize that we buy decks for the cards, not the boxes. It's not about display, its about enjoying using the cards.

Def interested in this deck as well as the moon oracle just so I can learn the astrology behind us all! the cardstock is def a portion of my decision but like you said it might be oop eventually again. Thank you for sharing! Awesome you are able to have both. I actually prefer the original back lol not so bright. :) Now that you have been working with the deck- how do you feel the astrology correlates with the energies?

Erika Lady Smiley if you’ve purchased the second deck, and have an issue with the backs- I got CLEAR Contact paper, I just put the cards on the contact paper cut around them carefully (which was super easy) and now they’re a nice good “stock” and you wouldn’t even know anything is on the back. It was the best move I made, because I use these cards daily. I was not paying the price for the OOP deck once I knew the second was out... I can not afford that!!! But, my aunt actually has the first edition and she prefers how mine shuffle now with the contact paper!!!! So she ordered the second deck, did the same thing, that way she doesn’t have to keep using the deck that’s worth a lot of money... it really made the cards feel great and I absolutely love them.

Olivia OZ, thanks for this tip regarding using clear contact on the back. I thought that contact may lift off at the edges so it’s good to know that it stays down. I’m interested in this deck as I want to learn more about astrology and use this information with my Tarot cards. Do you have a Tarot card deck you recommend for its astrological symbolism? I have not researched this information so some pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Janet Danes I think some brands would probably lift. I can understand your concern. I have had no problems at all and I use this deck every day. A friend of mine used it as well and so far I haven’t heard any complaints. But I did get a contact paper that I think maybe had extra adhesive, I will definitely check in the morning and let you know the brand and what it says. I mean yes the cards are thin but they’re not thin to the point where it would stop me either way from buying them. In fact, them being thin didn’t bother me until I saw everyone else complaining lol so I figured whatever I’ll put some strong clear contact paper on it. I’ve modified the backs of several decks and use many types of contact paper. In fact I was gifted every day witch, not a deck I would purchase myself but it was a gift. And the backs are obvious when a card is reversed and I covered them in a nice adhesive paper and they shuffle fine. Granted I don’t use them nearly as much as I do this deck. But there’s sooooo many varieties of adhesive films and stuff. It’s made much better. Look up deck modification, you’ll see people using all kinds of adhesive paper on the backs of their decks. In fact a video could be very helpful for you. That’s what got me into deck modification!! So when I got this deck, and everyone complained I just got a clear paper. But they’re not going to rip when you shuffle them!! It’s not tissue paper. Yes the company definitely could’ve done better. But I actually liked how easy they shuffled when they were thin!!! So don’t let that stop you from buying it. Because you’ll be able to get past that. I promise!

Thanks so much for your newsy reply, Olivia. Are you in Australia? I am, so maybe the brand and supplier will be a good match for me. I have some thinner cards which I like as they shuffle and handle well, and I also have some thicker card stock which is very hard to shuffle and handle. I’ve bought some decks which have been criticised as thin and I am happy with them, so I won’t let the card stock put me off too much.

Janet Danes I’m in the US. And believe me. I have some thick cards that I barely use. Because shuffling them is almost impossible. This deck is thin yes but it’s not tissue paper! Lol. It’s not computer paper. I’ve seen some of the reviews and I thought jeez some people really are overreacting! Yes it is on the thinner side. But you’d think it was cut from regular printer paper the way some reviews made it sound!!!! Yet there’s some decks which people rave about. And I can’t even bend the deck to shuffle them!!!! Lol. So if you really like it and are drawn to it, go for it!! Now that I have the contact paper on them I feel like I over reacted honestly!!! But I like it and it does make the deck like twice as thick!!! I just was careful to cut them and go with the same flow of the corners. But it wasn’t hard at all. I laid the cards on the contact paper and then cut so there was no problem with anything being uneven. It was just a bit time consuming and then that was that!

As I mentioned to the first comment if your worried about the card stock. There’s a super easy solution to it. I laid the cards (back down) on clear contact paper. Then cut around them. And they’re an excellent feeling card “stock” now. I’ve been using them daily for approx 6-7 months. They’re in great shape. And unless someone compared the first and second. If they didn’t have these cards, they’d automatically assume that this was a nice thick deck. Not too thick that you can’t shuffle them. But perfect so you can, and them not bend instantly

I hate bad cardstock! Such a bummer = / my 2 favorite decks have horrible cardstock but I try dealing hehe
