I am not sure if you shoot the most beautiful footage intentionally or not, intermixed with the most honest and down too earth opinions of the products you review. I rep'd an electric bike brand in British Columbia in 2014 called eVox which is a division of Rocky Mountain. I would have sent you a bike for review if that was still my job. I wish the market had been there for me to have been able to able to stick with it, however the electric bike market has changed dramatically in the last decade. The running joke was that if we wanted to sell more bikes we would have to place them at Liquor stores. I think you would have appreciated the drivetrain on the eVox since it ran a conventional 7 speed Shimano drivetrain but had a mid mount motor and a belt drive on the the opposite side so you were never pedaling against the motor if charge was depleted. The battery pack was 96 volts as well enabling very quick charging. Anyways I appreciate your videos very much, Cheers!

I have this bike and I'm 6'2 220lbs and I get about 15 miles to a full charge running it full throttle... great little bike for the money would agree made for a 6 foot person or less

My bike has a Bafang 350 and the top speed is governed to 21mph. I can get about 38 miles without significant loss of power. The battery and weight are very similar. Wish i had 21 speed instead of 7. I to of at about 29 mph pedaling.

I picked up this exact model from someone who never used it for an excellent price. Didn’t know anything about the e-bike except the price was great. After seeing this video I’m even more impressed with the bike. I had to review the entire physical setup because the stem was loose and I thought it was faulty. However a video I came across showed the two bolts needed tightening. I have only been able to test ride it once under limited circumstances. I’ve never ridden an E-bike before, which I believe works to my advantage, because I got a rush when the motor kicked in and I probably didn’t go more than 10 MPH. I’m looking forward to a legitimate ride!

Hello! I am hoping that you could help my son and I. He bought this bike for his birthday and we’re having a few issues putting it together. First, it appears to be missing the spring from the quick release on the front tire. Is this a huge problem? We’re also having difficulty getting the front tire to move in sync with the handlebars? Dude thanks for the detailed video, Im debating on buying this because i want to get back into bicycles, but also want to be able to ride for hrs like a kid again lol I got a few quick questions, though for ya since this has been 5months ago! Since this test run was full throttle the whole way and went 19 miles, have you done a mixture of riding on/off throttle? If so, whats the longest mileage you've been able to stretch on such a small battery? And (Im butchering the wording) but you mentioned how you ride ebikes a bit more on the aggresive side, With it being 5months later, How do you think the quality of the bike has changed? Has the bike been steady power all this time or can you tell its gotten a bit weaker over time?

I have a very similar bike with only some slightly better stats. I have a Gotrax EBE8 which has a 500w motor with a 750w peak and a 48v 15Ah battery which is kind of overkill on these smaller bikes. It has 27.5 inch tires instead of 26 inch which is a plus and a minus. Yes with the 27.5 tires it's slightly smoother and you have more of a contact patch on the road, but it's much harder to get street tires for it. I actually had to order some really nice Swalbe(swallow in German)Big Ben 27.5x2.1 inch tires from the UK to Canada as all the tires for 27.5's the manufacturers here seem to think you are always going off road. With those tires and the 48v 15Ah battery with throttle only and in the city so lots of stop and go I got 62.5km before it went to only a really weak power assist. That's almost 40 miles! I actually biked to my friends house who lives in another city (Oshawa) 54.6kms with a couple of battery bars left as it was mostly straight with very few lights to stop and go. If you upped the battery, maybe changed the tires that would be a perfect bike for your wife. 350w may not seem like much but thats 350w continuous. It's probably peaking around the 500w-600w level so for her as she is lighter, it would really zip. Does it have a cruise control? On my bike if you are using the throttle you hold down the minus key for 3 seconds and it goes into cruise of whatever power assist level it's been set to. Maybe give it go? Or look in the manual? My manual didn't have anything, I looked up the display and downloaded the .pdf for it. I wired in another display but the same model I bought from China which is unlocked and I'm getting a lot more speed and settings out of it. These little commuter bikes can be a lot of fun with just a few very minor upgrades, ie tires, battery, etc. I think this bike would be perfect for you wife, she can sit on it with her feet firmly planted which will give her a lot of confidence. It doesn't have crazy power to scare her and it still moves along at 20mph no problem. If you check the controller which should be at the base of the battery plate and look up the capacitors, I'd almost wager you could probably stick a 48v battery on there which will turn that 350w into a 500w. The motor doesn't care what voltage it gets, it all depends on heat and if the motor can take it for a long time. It may not be worth it on a budget bike but something to consider. 36v to 48v is a big step so I don't know if you have any 48v batteries kicking around that might fit but you could give it a try. It would all come down to the controller. You'd probably double your range and the speed increase would be substantial. On thing I do really like is that air saddle, my saddle that came with my bike is...errr...ok it's shit, you got me. It did help putting a zoom suspension seat post on there let me tell you. The doctors say in 6 months I might be able to have children, maybe...
