It would be nice to suggest what modes we should use during a week out of 7 modes. Should we use tongue clean mode after each brushing routine regardless of what mode we choose to brush?

The screen should be on the other side so you can see it in the mirror while brushing.

None of these reviews are talking about the whitening feature. I do the whole two minute brush twice a day but I want to see someone with the review for this brush and the whitening what does that feature have and does it come with the proper things to help you whiten?
@dentalnotebook
@dentalnotebook 2 жыл бұрын
This is a very good question! The easy answer is no - this does not 'whiten' are you probably want your teeth whitened. There are lots of toothpastes that advertise themselves as whitening, but they are actually very abrasive and can be damaging. The whitening function on brushes is likely just a firmer clean to try and remove stain. For true whitening, you need to speak to your dentist to get the correct solutions.

My 2 year old oral b has the whitening feature which meant it came with a whitening brush. That brush cracked one of my teeth. Now I’m 70 and maybe the tooth was weaker. But it split in half right up the middle and had to be removed. The dentist said it was a shame as it was a perfectly good tooth. The other features mentioned like a charging travel case and tongue cleaning are also on a few older models.

Oh I have one more question if you don't mind. My current toothbrush - an oral b - i used to use one of those round heads with bristles in different directions (almost looking as if they are crooked) - i think the brush head is called crossaction. I have switched to a newer version (called floss action) - which is the same except with these four little silicone looking yellow paddles which oral B say is meant to help interdental cleaning (i.e. creating a flossing effect). Is this true or just hype? What do you think? Should I get back to just the pure bristle ones - as more bristles mean more cleaning? Or is my logic flawed in some way?

I think either of these heads will serve you well :) There are only subtle differences between them and I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Thanks for the great info, is it better for Braces?
@dentalnotebook
@dentalnotebook 2 жыл бұрын
It will definitely just help with cleaning around braces, but it's still important to have interdental brushes etc to help :)

Hi there, I am wondering how different the I07 is to the I09? is the I09 significantly better for cleaning? thank you
@dentalnotebook
@dentalnotebook Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for stopping by! There isn't a huge difference. Cleaning/performance wise they are very similar. The 9 has a couple of extra cleaning modes and is more detailed and accurate with data for the app. The 7 is more than enough for day-to-day stuff :)

Excellent review and thank you. So, they say he genious X rotation is based on oscillations. But the io9 is oscillations PLUS magnetic microvibrations. Is that right? So, if i understand correctly, it does the physical rotation movements as well as the ultrasonic up and down movements. So movement in many more directions that the tradition pure oscilliting ones or pure ultrasonic ones. My question is - does the research show that this combined movement is any better at deep cleaning that the single movements? If someone has early peridontal disease, will this combined movement help clear plaque from the recesses/pockets? Hope I have explained that well enough. Any way, would be interest to know what the evidence says.

Hi, thanks for watching. So the microvibrations help most individual bristles but there isn't truly any evidence regarding this. The main evidence shows that electric brushes are better than manual and that rotating, oscillating heads may be slightly better than up/down/rectangular ones. The microvibrations do, however, make for a much more comfortable user experience :)

Isn’t it possible this can cause gum recession unless you are very careful to follow the outline of the tooth which is impossible because the head is too big . Any opinion on the Rotadent with filaments.

I ended up just ordering the iO 9 here in the US... with the WOW20 coupon it brought it down to $239 which regardless of what anyone says is still too high. I currently been using a Oral-B Pro 7000 since 2014 but while it still works it can't hold a decent charge anymore which has become incredibly annoying. Still I paid $115 at the time which I'm not sure if you should consider inflation or not.

After brushing with your Oral B electric toothbrush you should put the brush on the charge. And after the battery of the electric toothbrush is full again, it will stop charging. Which would extend the life of the electric toothbrush, and prevent the brush from ever loosing brushing power.

hi doc, i have receding gum, and i am reaching a new toothbrush. can you give a best advice for me which one better for receding gum? thank you doc
@dentalnotebook
@dentalnotebook 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Annisa, any of the toothbrushes in the video description will be good. You ideally want a toothbrush with a pressure sensor to stop you brushing too hard if the cause of your receding gums is trauma. If it is happening due to gum disease, then you need this to stabilise and so any electric toothbrush like this will help.
@annisawidyawatikurnia
@annisawidyawatikurnia 2 жыл бұрын
@@dentalnotebook oh I see. Doc, how about sonicare? I found in pubmed research. The sonicare give more results than oral B. How about your opinion doc? Yes my receding gum caused by traumatic pressure toothbrush. There's no plaque on the teeth.
@dentalnotebook
@dentalnotebook 2 жыл бұрын
@@annisawidyawatikurnia Yes they are good as well. As long as the brush had a pressure sensor in, this will be beneficial. The advantage with the iO, as I have said in the video, is the smart sensor where it tells you if you're brushing with the right force.
