Darkening of skin is it related to diabetes sir? Because in pre diabetes stage we get darkening of skin around neck and lots of warts.

Yes you are right. We can get dark marks in the neck and armpits but it can affect other areas like the cheek too. It is also associated with skin tags. I've Acanthosis Nigricans, I've started doing exercises and well balanced and calorie deficit diet to loose weight. Also I've started taking metformin 500mg/day at evening after food, without any doctor's prescription. Is it safe ?

Even though it is safe to take metformin for most, it is always useful to ask your doctor first to ensure there is no other medical reason and there are no interactions with other supplements or medications.

@@rickgrimes5456 see, actually it did fade away like 75 percent of it. But it's because I lost almost 10kg in last one year, and I'm still maintaining calorie deficit diet atleast 5/7 days a week. I'm taking metformin for past 2 months, and I didn't see any allergic reaction or anything, maybe because my dose is very small at one tablet a day. In short, metformin alone won't reduce Acanthosis Nigricans, but it's combination of factors, biggest one being your weight reduction, and eating zero added sugars in any form, not even coffee. Metformin can help increase the speed of change, but isn't a cure for this, focus more on zero sugar diet and eat less with intermittent fasting

Sir in September 2021 there was lumps in left armpit first time ) … took antibiotics !!it got cleared Again in December 2021 , there was 3 to 4 lumps in both armpit( second episode ) and visited dermatologist She diagnosed as HS and within 10 days it got cleared !! She prescribed acless 20 mg ( isotretinoin) for 1 month in jan 2022 and then 10 mg next 4 months and I gradually reduced it like alternate days and twice a month and I stopped it completely afer 9 to 10 months I dint have any boils or lump after dec 2021 ( totally had 2 episodes -one in sept 2021 and another in dec2021) ) Is this a mild case ? Will it recur ? Will it progress ? What should I do now ?
