Iwo is a city in Osun. It is the epicentre of transparency for homeowners and for strangers. The city has a parrot as an emblem, which represents the culmination of truth itself. It was discovered that in inception, the parrot was the pioneer of truth, which made the people resent its bearing in the land. With this, the sages named the parrot Ayekoto.
Iwo is the only predicted land with the symbol of the parrots (which signifies the location of the promised land) that is the Iwo kingdom. They are reputed to be pap lovers who prefer to wake up and indulge their mouths with the constrarch.
Like all other members of the Yoruba empire, the Iwo people are thought to have moved from Ile-Ife in the 11th century. The city was once a part of Oyo State, but it eventually became one of the largest townships in Nigeria's Osun State.
