OJ is still makin their own wheels to this day man. They're actually very good for beginner to intermediate riders and they are relatively cheap compared to other companies.

How do they get concave or cone shape when the wheels are always parallel to one another on the solid axles?
@imsoo51011 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean, exactly. It was like a mini-speedcheck to make sure my feet were positioned right and everything for the big shutdown standy. It was intentional, and that's why I didn't get bucked, because I was expecting it, and trying to do that. In retrospect, I can see how it might look sketchy to some

I just turned 51 last week and started skateboarding, first time long boarding, again after about 25-30 year break. Anyway, I am seeing these Orangatang commercial for the first time, but these wheels remind me of the OJ wheels I had back in the early 1980's. Makes me wonder if they are the same wheels? Anyone here old enough to remember the OJ wheels?

also dont worry ive flat spotted a set of butter balls about 60mm and a set about 55mm it makes me mad too but if you have acess to a lathe or a drill press you can possibly round out your wheels.

Thanks for this. I will buy these wheels next time because they seems really long lasting. 4 weeks for you must mean 1 year for me because I only do small slides and mostly ride straight and and carving.
they are really rough, they don't wear down well, and they oval easily.
@catha8610 жыл бұрын
***** yeah I agree. otang wheels are amngst the best for sure. Otherwise so many longboard manufacturer wouldn't trusted them. I got otang fat free 86a, otang kilmer 83a, otang 4 president 83a and all have been very good. My friend has otang stimulus 80a and yeah they have been good. They are quality for sure. But very expensive. I wouldn't buy them if I can find something else that work but otang for cruising is top notch.

Great wheels, been riding them since early feb, and just about to core them, they last a long time, seing as how i am 280lbs, the smaller, the more predictable, a bit icy at first, but no regrets.

Shred.Lin, I can measure some other time but if my memory serves me, its about 45mm. It's just within that white ring on the graphic of the wheel. Dierre pernell, Check out "Metalbee Artifacts" on facebook, he makes all sorts of cool skateboard accessories and he crafted those noseguards. High quality stuff

butterballs and flashbacks. but whatever you already have are just fine :P the reason for bi=utterballs and flashbacks is that they are the cheapest high quality wheels you can get. you will ruin several sets by flatspotting pretty early in the life of the wheel, and if you are going to waste a set, it might as well be a cheap one
@imsoo51011 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ, they may be unpredictable and icy to some, but they definitely become even more controllable as they get smaller. They are a solid wheel, give them a fair shot and you won't be disappointed.
