Three years later, and this match is still a perfect debut match for any wrestler, let alone OC. The way PAC let Orange slowly demonstrate his gimmick and his amazing facial expressions reacting to them explained everything about OC to me as a first time viewer at the time. To this day, PAC is my favorite in the company, and after I introduced my girlfriend to this clip and wrestling in general, OC became hers ^_^

I cannot yet deny that when he was babyface he was not as good at promos as he was and is as a heel... He was a beast in NXT and he was a beast during the first months in the Main roster, but then he was quickly left behind. Then, he appeared as a heel and he proved to the world the superstar he is...there's a reason why he was the one carrying the Cruiserweight Division, which rised and died with him...Now he is killing it in AEW and I hope he does for several more years...

The Fiend is here!". So, when he came back from injury in late 2016 at "Roadblock: End of the Line" (Yes my friend, it was called that) and attacks the "babyfaces" of 205 LIVE, he ascends as "The Bastard" and ruled the division for months...until they cut his strings AGAIN for a F-ING filth of a "guy" to wait until his contract became expired in late 2018. Then...he was FREE.

The problem with Jim Cornette is that, despite regarding himself as the only "serious" wrestling guy left, he willingly refuses to acknowledge the most basic, core tenet of wrestling: as Chris Jericho put it about Orange Cassidy, "Over is over". It doesn't matter if you're the best wrestling talent in the world, if the audience isn't into you, you're nothing. And it doesn't matter if you're nothing special in the ring, if the crowd gets behind you enough, you're a success. This was the principle that drove Hulkamania in the 80s and Stone Cold in the 90s- they were both good wrestlers of course (although Hogan played down his actual wrestling ability to be a larger-than-life superman), but what made them the two biggest stars of all time was their ability to command the alleigance of the audience. If the crowd is this much behind Orange Cassidy then Cornette can go suck a fat one, because Cassidy is a star (it helps that he's also an actual FANTASTIC wrestler once he does start to try).
