You need to use the supplied PSU 'brick'. IIRC it's the same one as the MicroTerror and MicroDark 15V 2A centre +ve regulated, unless your pedalboard PSU can deliver this 30w spec. On the good side the PSU wattage is rated higher, than the amp output wattage. Not always the case with some other makes.
@castleanthrax18332 жыл бұрын
I own one and from what I can gather, there is an input transformer in the power supply. I think it adds to the small size of the Stamp itself. Anyway this is an awesome little amp. ✌️🇦🇺

Sounds great. The gain seems to take on a fuzz character after mid-way on the dial, which was also my experience with the micro dark. Useful, but wouldn't be my main high gain sound. Can anyone speak to how well it takes an OD boost, or a full-blown amp-in-a box drive medal like the Angry Charlie?
@icarusi Жыл бұрын
I have one of these now, to complete the set. The supplied PSU on mine sends low level 'motorboating' noise over the 'cab sim' out. The Microterror and Microdark PSUs don't do this, so either the Stamp is more sensitive to the PSU or the Mocro's PSUs have better screening (or my particular Stamp has a fault). It'll be worth checking for this noise ASAP, if you don't have an alternative PSU, assuming you want to use the cab sim out.
@conanbrophy4406 Жыл бұрын

Hey Andy - perhaps a stupid question but can this be run into e.g. a normal fender tube amp to get a more orange like sound, or is it only for cabs?
@AndyDemos2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question: you can but only if you use the Line out (FX loop send). This would allow you to use just the tube preamp portion into other pedals/amps. Thanks!

Hi, I need to know 3 things about this box: 1) Can it be used as a simple dirt pedal through an actual amp? (NOT a cab, but a combo or head). 2) And if so, can it take other pedals before AND after it, again like a simple dirt pedal? Maybe using the send/return? 3) Can its line out (NOT the speaker cab.sim.) go directly into a PA?
@AndyDemos2 жыл бұрын
Great questions! 1) Yes, you can use it like any other overdrive with the Line Out and run it into an amplifier. 2)The preamp is made to handle any pedals before if (because it is an amp itself). 3) Yes, you can use Line out without Cab sim to a PA or Interface (it will sound very direct). Thanks!

Hey Andy, fantastic playing and great demo! I really like this pedal. Question: you mention that the distortion pedal is the last thing in the signal chain, after modulation type effects. I always thought you should place any sort of distortion pedals (as well as compression pedals) in front of modulation pedals? Am I incorrect or mis-informed?
@AndyDemos3 жыл бұрын
You have the right idea, in general. However, since the distortion pedal IS the amp, you would have no choice but to put all pedals before it. That's why Orange added the FX loop, so those modulation or delay FX can be "placed" after the preamp (the distortion) and before the speaker output. This is all assuming you are using the Terror Stamp as an amp. If you want to use it as a pedal, yes you can place is wherever you need! Hope that clarifies it.

@AndyDemos Жыл бұрын
That all depends on your cabinet (regarding the low volume quality) but speakers generally sound bigger when louder. I would definitely suggest using the cab sim output into DAW through monitors for greater volume control. Either way, you’re still using a solid state power amp. Best, Andy

Tried 2 different pedals and same deal. Might be just me? The out appears to stereo, what interface are you using, etc? Cable?
@AndyDemos Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty straightforward, use your normal guitar cable or TRS balanced cable at the headphone out to send to any interface input or a PA. It’s not stereo. If other pedals are noisy going into your PA then you have an outside issue, perhaps your PA isn’t grounded. Also, always use the 15V power supply on the Terror or you may get noise. Best, Andy

I want to try the Terror Stamp very soon as I move a lot for my jobs, the aim would be to do small gigs. I red everywhere the volume is too low for a band setting when you chase after a clean/edge of breackup tone. I was thinking about a few possibilities to deal with this problem : - Cranking the gain and cleaning my tone with the guitar's volume pot when needed. Does it clean well when the gain is cranked a bit more than what you showed in your demo, and does it keeps a respectable ammount of volume ? - Setting the Terror Stamp to edge of breackup and boosting it with a pedal in front of it (I have a Lateral Phonics Marrakesh preamp which covers everything from clean boost/eq to fuzz territory with quite a lots of volume on tap) Any insight about that ?
