My Orange was updated to the latest version, (3.28) there is no option to filter dates on Twitter searches for text mining. But I saw that in some screenshots there is an option to filter the search by inputting the date range. How to activate it?

Unfortunately, Twitter (or X) is no longer available in the Orange app (for Windows and Apple). Is there an alternative solution to integrate Twitter via the API?

There's no alternative, since X cut off all free access.

Unfortunately no. Twitter API allows only access to tweets from the past 14 days. As for the geographical area, this is available only in the Streaming Twitter API, which is not available in the widget (because it requires constant connection).

@@OrangeDataMining Tanks a lot for the quick reply. That's sad we can't get the tweets beyond that 14 days! Is it a limitation by the Orange widget or that's the best bet provided by Twitter (perhaps for free!)?!

@@OrangeDataMining And just FYI, I am getting "rate limit exceeded. please try again later orange3" error while I was working with Twitter and NY Times widgets last night!! The process starts normally but after a while (randomly in a percentile) it stops working! Wondering if I am missing something here?!

@@rezaabdi4407 It is a limitation of Twitter, not of Orange. Same for the rate limit. Twitter will only allow you to get so much data. Try setting an upper limit to the number of results. Orange should return a nicer error though. Will submit a PR.

Pozdravljeni Ajda in Orange tim, hvala za odlične tutoriale 😊🙏 if I could please ask for some help with Instagram posts analysis; there are 2 groups of cca 1500 posts with photo annotations (text annotations in an Excel file) and corresponding photo description posted by the user (also text in an Excel file). I'd like to compare if and how does the content of 1. group differ from the 2. group... I've tried the bag of words & hierarchical clustering which is nice but was wondering if there is another method? maybe embedding & k-means, although I'm not really sure how to use that... what would be your recommendation? :)

Thank you for the kind words. :) Bag of words is great for extracting meaningful features. Then I would use classification, training a model to distinguish between group 1 and group 2. I suggest logistic regression with nomogram, as you will be able to interpret the findings. Alternatively, you can compare one group against the other using word enrichment (what words are more frequently used in one group). Best, team Orange

Hi! Thanks so much for this tutorial. But when I use Preprocess Text widget on my corpus I see a yellow triangular caution sign with this notice: "No tokens on the output." Please how can I fix this?

Several ways. Perhaps you didn't set the right text variable in Corpus. Perhaps you have pruned the corpus too much. Change the parameters of preprocessing and see what happens.

My preprocess text widget shows all my tweets on input, but says there are none on output. I've tried automatically applying the preprocessing and manually clicking "Apply". I just upgraded to 3.29. Any suggestions to get my tweets to output?

I haven't seen a better software for a very intuitive way of working with data and make quick data analysis. Thank you for creating such a magical tool. Can u provide any tutorial on using python scripting with widget. I have tried on my own, and have found it a little confusing.

Yes, there are some issues with the underlying libraries. We are fixing this - the widget will be available again in the new release of the Text add-on.

You can't. You can only access tweets from the past 14 days as provided by the Twitter API.

now when ı enter the apı key it gives an error.  Api error: 401 Unauthorized Unauthorized. Check if your API plan includes Tweets retrieval. The free plan doesn't allow Tweets retrieval anymore.

Yes, with the Network add-on. But you need to extract the follower/following information to build the network yourself (with Twitter API).
