No you gotta elixir pump it, or golem. It's a very tight timing, but it's better than it getting that 82 damage on your tower! I found the best counter to be mirrored three musketeers since it's a level higher and tanks the spirit very well!

For me personally I guess card wil synergise with seige decks Bcz 1) swarm killer 2) Zap aspect 3)Utilise chain ability 4)Cycle card 5) Activation doesn't matter in decks like Xbow

No. Since an Electro Dragon does not chain into 2 Guards when the shield is destroyed, neither can the Electro Spirit. The Guards and their shields are considered the same unit.
