Orania, an Afrikaner-only town in South Africa, responds to U.S. President Donald Trump's order halting financial aid to the country and offering refugee status to Afrikaners. While grateful for the offer, Orania residents, echoing AfriForum and Solidarity Movement's views, prefer that the assistance be directed towards recognition of Afrikaners in South Africa. We have deep rooted racial divides in South Africa and the problem with the SA Government is that they're assuming that the wounds will heal naturally in time. We know that the crime rate in SA, including murder, isn't discriminatory - just ask people living in townships and the Cape Flats, so White farmers aren't in a class of their own; however, I strongly believe that politicians (ANC, MK, EFF and DA) need to stop playing racial politics.
