Merry Christmas to all. 3 for Wordle CAIRN PARSE SHARE. Connections i went for the Rainbow Of Shame red herring of Santas reindeer then Y, B, G, with purple left over. I've never watched SNL so no shame in not getting that.

My results are disappearing AGAIN so I'm trying a simplified version: STARE PHONE SHARE For this S_ARE trap, I used PHONE to test for sPare, sHare and sNare. (Obviously, not using hard mode.) It could also have been SCARE, which would have been my next guess. Strands: I thought it was cute how the spangram resembled a hanging stocking. But I struggled. I'm no authority, but putting oranges in stockings was news to me. Same with pens. I wasn't familiar with the term "plushie" either. I've always just called them stuffed animals. Connections: No mistakes, not in sequence, correctly named the categories. The Saturday Night Live cast members, Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, and Cecily Strong are all FORMER cast members, although some still make occasional guest appearances.

You continue being the Connections BEAST. Did you ever fail Connections when this game first came out? My Connections puzzle this time is more challenging, but you will probably solve it. We can't reveal the answers yet. Do you remember Gilda Radner from SNL? The cast members were the best back then in my opinion. Also, MERRY CHRISTMAS, Dora. 😎

@@hopechazz Thanks, Chazz! Merry Christmas! Yes, I did fail a few Connections in the beginning, before I got a bit wiser to their tricks. I haven't tried to do your puzzle yet, but I'll let you know how I do. I certainly do remember Gilda, very fondly...she was terrific! I agree that the show was much better in the early days and has been, for the most part, in a steady decline ever since. The original cast WAS the best. I used to watch every Saturday for the first few years, then only occasionally, now only rarely. I do not find much of it funny anymore, and I miss the old cast members. I'm amazed it has lasted this long...50 YEARS!

I only watched SNL when it started in the 70's. Gilda Radner was the BEST in my opinion. My one sister had her traditional Xmas Eve dinner with her beef tenderloin being the main attraction. I tell her every year that she can make Beef Tederloin soup with her left over meat. She just looks at me and rolls her eyes. Dessert is mainly a variety of cookies and I act like the COOKIE MONSTER eating them. 😁

I've seen it a handful of times but I have no idea what actors appears on it nor who hosts it. I simply am not up that late (midnight) to watch it, nor do I have cable. It's just one of those things I haven't a clue. Saturday Night Live is a comedy show and you have to be into entertainment in general to appreciate their humor. I got my aunt hooked on Connections. Three of us played. My aunt, her partner and I. We first tried Santa's Reindeer, turned out to be a red herring. With the help of my aunt, we cleared green, but I didn't know Hawkeye. My aunt said it came from the book "The Last of the Mohicans". And that turns out to be right. Yellow came easily. As for light blue and purple we made two more errors because all I saw were a bunch of names and we tried to group the female ones together. With no more mistakes to make, we lucked into it, but didn't describe it correctly. We knew QUEEN (bee) and NANNY (goat) of course. Our minds refreshed on VIXEN (fox) but only my aunt knew that a JENNY is a female donkey. As for purple, none of us knew that.

I do not watch SNL and I did not know female animals. I did well with the other two categories in Connections. In regards to Wordle and Strands, I was OK in these games. I am wishing many of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS or HAPPY HOLIDAYS. 😊

I only knew of Fey as a Tina. I was thinking famous Tina's, but went with th ambiguous actors. Chazz, I hope you have a glorious day filled with fun and good eats!

@@LadyAndreaRose Besides being an SNL cast member, Tina Fey also wrote, produced and starred in her own TV comedy series called "30 Rock," with Alec Baldwin. She started out as a writer, then got into acting. She has appeared in many movies, and still does lots of TV commercials, so you would probably recognize her if you saw her. She has long dark hair and usually wears her "trademark" dark rimmed glasses.

I would have thought that in the UK, vintners are more wine merchants than winemakers, but I'm no wine aficionado . When I had a hotel I dealt with a vintner for wine purchases and they dfidn't make any of it ! Seems it means winemaker in the US.
