In Japanese, Jolenta said "Moji wa kiseki desu NE". The last "NE" is often used when you ask for consent, so we can guess that Jolenta is not talking to herself, but talking to Oczy politely (desu) as if she is a 14 years old girl. "Reading and writing are miracles, aren't they?"

Asch explained that the book was confiscated from a church in an abandoned village.That village is probably the one where Grabovski and Badeni lived. In other words, Grabovski kept the book with him.However, the fact that the book was left in the church suggests that he may have died suddenly before he entrusts the book to someone. In ep16, it was explained that many villages were abandoned due to epidemics, so it's possible that the village where Grabovski lived was also hit by an epidemic. Well, these are just my guesses.
