+Tsuran Its great fun you spend hours building, flying and attempting to land and what do you get BOOM though I have to admit there is something satisfying about crashing a rocket :D

Rocket crashes are great, as long as your payload is not on board. Trust me, I´m a Spacecraft Controller. :D

I laughed when you were talking about the slowdown and needing a new PC. Feel my pain of a Core 2 Quad 6600 (2.4GHz) and a 560ti. I have 145 mods installed through CKAN and it really chugs at times. Sadly my graphics have had to be shunted down. If you missed the most recent Squadcast, they are fast approaching Unity 5 and that means multi threading so that each craft can have its own core for physics calculations. That will really help. I still need a new PC though! Great video as always, learned a lot from you, Scott Manley and Kerbalcast.

Can you do a career mode guide of colonizing the solar system?
@TheNecropolis206 жыл бұрын
Id like to see a carreer mode with out mods or cheats just to see how far it can go... me personally i dont play with mods... Iv only gotten up to like my first 4 or 5 contracts with out cheating.... i still dont know how to do a focused observational scan of Kerbin i have no idea what that is. List of Contracts i beat in my unmodded game with out cheating (just imagine that colonizing the soar system will require more than this) 1 launch your first vessal (i usally just go straight to EVA then get the research from the goo experiment) 1a - get research from vessal from launch pad 1 b - launch first vessal a second time to test a device either flea booster , hammer booster or parachute 1 c -get research from vessal in flight 2 - test a Flea rocket in flight over kerbin 3 - test a hammer rocket in flight over kerbin 4 -test the mark 4 parachute 5 - have a sub-orbital flight i do this with my first vessal but i add some more fuel tanks and then let it rip to see how high i can get it. 6 - go into orbit, for this contract i usally do a one man pod and its just one orbit to be safe. i make sure i first discover a throttleable rocket, i know RCS is a bit out of reach at this early stake though. things i cant do build space station parts i just cant get enough science to research them my max science from my first few missions is only like 50 units , also i just learned how to throttle up and launch heavy rockets, ill play the game again and start new just to really see how far you can go with out mods or cheating... iv seen the mining rig and things like that in my game its not a mod, most vehecles that Orbi8ter uses are stock and not from mods but the technology it takes to get there is just incredible, even just finding out how to build the mineral scanning probe takes serious science and i never figured out how to build it with out cheating, even orbiter says that he plays it in sandbox mod so he dont do contracts i never see him clicking on that stuff in his videos her, a career mode playthough from orbiter would be nice id also like to see that. 13:16 You could turn the engine straight up and u would have bigger chances to start flying up again and then go to the target ;)

Good suggestion but I think with just the one engine we would probably have hit the rim of the crater.

Do you need to rotate the large docking ports to dock with each other? Btw love your videos and keep up the good work
@Orb8Ter8 жыл бұрын
+KermalGaming No I don't think you need to rotate large docking ports it's just you can align them up to align the crafts up making it look cool.
@Xraider2208 жыл бұрын
+Orb8Ter i had problems with the docking but it was probably because my craft was to big. Thanks for answering

6:10 Oh good lord, please use the long ladders next time, spamming those tiny ladders is never good haha. 13:18 There's a feature in the Engineer Redux that calculates when you should suicide burn. If you use it, make sure you go at least 3km before, just to make sure you account for terrain height (it's based off sea level)
@Orb8Ter9 жыл бұрын
Ok so my rules on ladders: 1 If the craft separates between where the ladder goes then place a mobility enhancer. 2 If the craft part does not separate place the cheaper ladders from IKEA 3 You can ignore rule 1 and 2 4 MANDATORY: Don't forget the snacks!
@Xenro669 жыл бұрын
Orb8Ter Never forget the snacks! Haha, but in all 'seriousness', I just spam those huge ladders everywhere :L

at 3:17 i see what a Mun mining rig looks like.... What does a Asteroid Rig look like? on asteroids you cant use the landing legs theres no gravity on asteroids... you have have to use the grabing modules though.. at 3:17 i see a nice Moon rig wheres the asteroid rig? show me your asteroid mining rig, also show me the Duna rig as well.
@Orb8Ter6 жыл бұрын
You use THE CLAW on asteroids it works pretty well probably easier with no gravity as well you just have to get the asteroid encounter ;)
@TheNecropolis206 жыл бұрын
um , yeah i know that, but the thing is thats not what im trying to say Im saying if you have a large vessal trying to grab the asteroid your vessal will get wobbly like how your craff in the next video had to land on top of the mining rig. yes i know you use the graber and it works pretty well. what im saying is if you have a large craft like your moon space station coming in to grab a asteriod it needs to be 4 grabbers spaced out at the corners of a 9 module suface space, one graber would break, asteriods range in size from buses to apartment buildings i seen some one use something like this do get a space station to grab a asteriod... one graber is not useful on the asteroids with a large vessal a one graber is best used as a space tug ship to move modules around for faster space station building. thats what im saying, id like you to continue the series and show us the Duna base and the asteroid exploration.

I normally would use a mod that allows the kerbals to attach struts, the mod is called Kerbal attachment system and kerbal inventory system I think it should be stock for the game, but in any case I have used a multiple claw system but only three of the four connected but it did work to keep it stable, and it is possible to build a sort of ring around the asteroid using just stock parts that would be as stable as you could get.
@TheNecropolis206 жыл бұрын
Im watching your asteriod series right now.. How do i put items in a Kerbal inventory?. I once seen Kerbals have building items in there inventory, i seen Engineer Kerbals Fix broken tires and they would have like spare wheels in there pockets and other items like struts and possibly able to carry RCS thrusters on them. Do i have to get a mod for Kerbal engineers to be able to carry things around or is this in the base game? you say your using a mod for Kerbals to attach struts? are you saying this Kerbal inventory system is not in the base game? Right now im still playing the game without mods like i said i just got the game on March 23rd... im mainly just watching just to see how far the Kerbals go just for entertainment and to learn what all is possible in the game, right now its a crash course im finding the game a bit over whelming, i need help with modding too, when i first got the game i thought there would be steam achievements, i knew thats mods would disable steam achievements but theres no steam achievements its almost as if the game was designed to be a mod game right from the install with steam achievements never ment to be a feature. like i said the game is over whelming its so hugh on what is possible i really appreciate your tutorials i find them to be better than Scott Manley because you build the vehicles slowly enough to where i can grab my notepad and draw up the plans just as your doing it and then make them in my game... scott goes so fast i have no idea what all parts hes using. but because theres no steam achievements i feel like i should go straight into modding the game.
@Orb8Ter6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you need the two mods Kerbal inventory system and kerbal attachment system they add some parts for storage mainly but allows your kerbal to work on craft during the mission. I feel that the game is improved with modding especially with kerbal engineer even if just for delta v info this makes building a lot easier for me and yes the game is hard even I have problems I haven't mounted a proper mission to Eve with return even with mods, that's why I try to make the tutorials as easy as possible even with building as I have watched Scott Manley's videos failed what he showed because I didn't understand something he didn't point out. I got the game directly from Squad's website so I don't play on Steam.

Your videos are well produced and your overall presentation is above par for someone basically just growing their channel. I don't know if you are familiar with Gopher, but he is decent example to follow in this matter. He started with a small following doing mod showcases, tutorials, and lets play videos. Slowly his subscriptions and demand for his videos increased to the point that it has become his full-time job, and supports his family. Please keep making your videos if convenient and enjoyable for you to do so, many will watch(I definitely will). Good luck and thank you, Sir.
