I just got the M10 TR. I am also an old school guy. At 52, i have been riding and racing since the late 80s. I think the video got it spot on. This geometry took a bit getting used to. I have had a lot of bikes. I haven't have a bike i love this much in at least 15 years. However, the TR is not a race bike... That aside, this is a great bike. ;-)

This bike so beautiful it was love at first sight, this is my favorite XC Bike. It's a easy bike to ride and gives you confidence.

I ride the M10 TR version in orange, looks great and rides even better! Weighs in at under 11kg, even with the dropper post & bigger suspension.

Fully agree with you, I also bought the OIZ M30 a couple of months ago, and rode about 500km now with it. I totally love it, coming from a TREK superfly hardtail. Best price/quality. Was tempted by the Trek Supercaliber, but was too expensive imho. Thanks.

Hi there! Thanks for these insightful videos! I'm having a hard time deciding which bike I want! I don't race, although I'm planning of participating in marathon races. If I ride myself it would be in group and mostly larger distances uphill + downhill. Now I was wondering if this would be comfortable enough for long distance rides or if I should head to the TR range for some more suspension
@MossieRidesBikes4 жыл бұрын
The TR oiz is still a jammin bike but I just don't need the extra suspension where I live. As far as being comfortable, I love the bike itself. I just did 60 miles on it the other day at a local trail system and couldn't complain about anything.

Thanks for the excellent review. I've been riding an XL Orbea Alma 29" w/an 80cm stem/410cm bars. I'm considering buying an Oiz in a large size (also 29"). I'm 6'3". Please tell me your thoughts/opinions. Is riding an "undersized" frame a reasonable approach to enhancing the steering responsiveness/handling? I've ridden "old school" geometry XCs in undersized frames for years. My Alma is the first modern geo bike and the first XL the I've owned. >90% of my riding is on rocky, technical, loose over hardpack trail in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Thanks for your time.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I would 100% test ride a smaller size before you went that route. Orbea's sizes run a little small to begin with. I currently ride a large that fits like a glove but I'm also 5'11. If you try to size down and end up needing a super long stem it will change the handling of the bike for the worse. It took me a whiiilleee before I really started to enjoy modern geometry but it was very beneficial once I did. I hope that helps!

@@MossieRidesBikes Thank you for your response and insight. I agree with your opinion. The Alma came with a 120mm (not cm) stem that I changed to 80mm (not cm) after a month of riding almost daily. The steering difference was dramatic. I also noticed a significant decrease in the tendency for the front end to drift upwards (wheelie) while climbing tech trails, (I've also moved my saddle/seat forward to the safety limits on the rails). Yes, you're right, there's always a compensation with respect to setup/fit. A large frame would probably require increasing stem length beyond what I'd be cool with. I'm really grateful for your time spent responding. It's REALLY difficult finding XC knowledge content and experience as most XC reviews are from guys who ride some other discipline and are evaluating XC bikes with an enduro/downhill perspective. Thank you.

Hi thanks for the review:) 2 questions: Do you feel like the frame is stiff enough for hard-core sprinting? Any noticeable power loss while paddling in the saddle?
@MossieRidesBikes4 жыл бұрын
For a full suspension frame I felt like it sprinted better than any others I have raced on. Especially when you engage the dual lockouts. I never noticed any powerloss while pedaling in the saddle. This thing loves to go fast

today i realized i need a full suspension bike, im looking at the h10, i would imagine that the only difference between the alloy version and carbon would be the weight? as far comfort they should be the same because of the suspension?
@MossieRidesBikes4 жыл бұрын
You are correct in that thinking. Some argue that since carbon dampens vibrations better that the full carbon bike will be more comfortable. I can notice a huge difference on a hardtail but on full squish the comfort difference is nominal at best. At least in my experience

Considering this bike for XC racing. Any issues with the rear triangle over time; feeling lose in the link/pivot, any lateral play developed?

None whatsoever and I've been riding/racing this thing since February!

Thinking about a 2019 orbea oiz M30, it doesn't have the sweet integrated lockout cable or the upgraded float for the rear suspension. Looks to be in good shape and they're asking $1,900. Don't need a lot of travel, like to go fast and plan on racing it a bit. Jump on it?
@matsfredrikhalvorsen76398 ай бұрын
Does the rear and the front shock absorber lock compleate? Or will they sway when you are pedaling hard in full lock mode?

Do you think it is light enough?I have a Scott Scale 950 which weights around 11,7kg (alloy) and i want to transfer to full-sus. I am looking for the best/lightest in my buget-4000$. Do you think that it is better than a Scott Spark Rc900 team? It has 3 positions lockout...
@MossieRidesBikes4 жыл бұрын
Mine came stock at around 24 lbs (10.8kg) but honestly I have found that any single pivot bike under 25lbs will do just fine for xc. I'm still running the stock wheels which aren't terrible but they are not the lightest thing out there. That's what I'm looking to upgrade now
@chriss83754 жыл бұрын
Good review! Sounds like what I need! Now the question, if we are talking 3 plus hour rides, this or spearefish or trance 29er. Or would the 120 oiz be the ticket?
@MossieRidesBikes4 жыл бұрын
I think I would narrow it down to the trance or the tr oiz. Between those two I think it depends more on how much travel vs pedaling efficiency you want. The trance will definitely be nicer for something in the Pisgah area but the oiz eats up anything strictly cross country!

Do you know if this is the same mint green colour that can be chosen in the MyO program for the Occam?
@MossieRidesBikes4 жыл бұрын
I believe it is. I have not actually seen a bike from the MyO program in person with that color on it but all the other ones that have come in do match the color of the stock bikes.

I definitely recommend trying to get it from your local Orbea dealer. That way if anything goes wrong with the bike, you have a point of contact that will take care of you.

I got mine from bike bling in California, ordered custom made from Spain. Love it. I also have an OIZ 2014 M30, which I also love! I also can attest to the great warranty on the frames as I broke my 2014 frame while removing a pivot bolt.
