I watch 3 videos on the Yard Enforcer and this is the best as he notes about trouble shooting. Setting these up are not as easy as it sounds as you have to test over and over plus getting soaked.

Great product! Your review is very thorough. I found that the cooler the weather the better the range. Difference between body heat and ambient temp makes all the difference in the world. I also learned that the deer would learn the pattern so I had to move the sprinkler around to keep them hopping. Orbit states that there is a algorithm to reduce false sensing events like trees moving in the wind. Between that, the many modes, as well as the watering cycle, this is one awesome device!

Good luck trying to find one now! I've had two of these and just recently bought a third. I've had my older two for about a year maybe a little bit over. Recently one of them stopped working. I thought that perhaps it was the batteries because I've gotten a lot of battery life out of both of my original units by making sure that it was turned off when I didn't need to use them. But changing the batteries did not correct the problem, I actually believe that the hard water mineral deposits have somehow corroded the inside of the unit. I cannot unattach the garden hose from the unit at this time. I've tried torquing it with two wrenches, spraying some lime away hard water deposit... So I'm going to lose both the hose and a sprinkler. I bought mine for a nuisance raccoon who knocks over my bird bath and my bird feeders in my backyard and digs holes in my new lawn. I went to Amazon to try to buy a new one, however, they now want $115 a piece for these sprinklers! I bought mine originally for $69.99 a piece. I found out that Ace hardware carries these units however, I don't know if it's due to people being so involved in their gardens and their yards during the pandemic that they have now realized they need something to deter nuisance animals from their hard work, or if orbit has decided not to make these items any longer. I tracked the last one in my area down last week and drove 20 mi both ways to pick it up. These units work fabulous! And have done a good job to touring the raccoons for my backyard for over a year. Just recently this morning the nuisance raccoon that I have now knocked my bird feeder over. I don't know why because the sprinkler is aimed right at the bird feeder pole to keep him from ever getting close to it to begin with and then would spray his fur off if he tried to climb the pole. But this morning the bird feeder was lying on the ground and the raccoon was trying to get the food out of it! My new yard enforcer works well except it seems the volume of water that is sprayed is not as much as the old unit. I don't know if that's an adjustment that I need to deal with or if it's just the new model and the way it's going to be. I do hope that orbit continues to make these sprinklers. They're worth the money if you have put money into your yard and do not want it to be destroyed by nuisance people or animals.

I had both the scarecrow and the Orbit. The problem with both of these is they only last for about a year and stop working. Very frustrating.

Thanks for the review,I was going to get the Scare Crow one but having the day/night option sold me don't want to soak the mail person..Up to $63.00 dollars now on Amazon but I hope it's worth it to keep animals at night out of Flower Garden.

Enjoyed you video! I bought this for my garden last year and it worked well for me, but when I set it up for this year's garden, the motion sensor will no longer work or activate sprinkler after trying on all settings and troubleshooting tips in manual. So I just got another one from Amazon today and my garden is safe again! I had deer eat my tomato plants all the way down to the soil one time! Not anymore!

@ Pilot, Gardener, & Reefer! I had a tomato garden through September and May we live in SW Florrida. The bird were tearing my tomatoes up this year. Will this item detect them and activate? The birds were a mocking bird size. If you dont have them there they are about the size of a blue jay or cardinal.

It is effective.. but the way they pointed up sprinkler alone is bbummer.. it's go to high in the air rather then shooting deer... My other model for 32 dollars - pretty much like this minus bells and whistles got broken - plastic part start leaking water, no wash inside... so this is just for 2 years roughly device... what a pitty... but it does work for sure... I like about this one fact that you can change so it only turns on for nigh, or sunset/sunrise... cool feature and saving water for sure for windy days as we have here for sure in Ohio.

Too tall and high is exactly the problem. It senses too high and shoots too high. My problem is feral cats. They only respect devices like this when detection is low and the water zaps them directly. This Orbit failed brutally on both accounts. I returned it. The cats were startled initially but not scared away because the water was harmlessly going over them. Plus the detection level was simply not low enough. Within 3 days they learned to easily sneak underneath the detection. I have tried many of these. Only the Hoont jet sprayer does well with low feral cats, since you can set it very low to the ground using simply the metal spike and not the extender. However, the Hoont sensor plate has condensation issues, which causes it to lose effectiveness. I have 3 and rotate 2 while allowing one to dry out.

Great review but I must have bought 2 faulty ones bcse my sensor doesn’t detect movement unless I literally wave my hand an inch from the sensor. Waste of money

It's interesting you say that the trees could activate it because Amazon says " its intelligent sensing technology learns the difference between animals and tree limbs blowing in the wind to prevent overwatering.". From the sounds of things, my robot mower will definitely set it off! I thought it would have proper technology that can sense the heat profile of an animal.

I also bought one of these last year to deter herons from my pond and it worked perfectly. It was dried out, batteries removed and stored in the shed for winter. On setting up this year it insists on firing off every 30 secs or so with nothing triggering it no matter which setting it is on. Any clues??

I used a metal fence post, and used outdoor rated zip ties. It was connected to a timer for water supply

Ronnie, can I ask a question of you? First off, great review video - much appreciated! Here's my scenario - live in FL so unit will be used 24/7/365. I wish to use this in my back yard during the day to reduce the "hoard" of squirrels that dig in my yard and rob my bird feeders of ALL their content. So for day use, I need it to deter squirrels from the ground level & higher up in my bird feeders. Now, at night, I need it for raccoons, armadillos, and especially opossums & lots of them. I'm not worried at all about the effectiveness of this unit at night, however, during the day, I have beautiful songbirds at my feeders. Are they going to activate the sensor, thus, scaring them away for good? I have "painted buntings" - the most beautiful bird in the US - I definitely don't want to lose them. Can you give me some suggestions please? God Bless! Sherry

S Christians I think if you have the sprinkler close to the ground and not in view of the feeder that would work. You wouldn’t want the motion sensor to pick up movement on the feeder, it would activate if birds land on it. You can always get squirrel proof feeders, that’s what I have. The squirrels occasionally try to eat from them but always fail.

My enforcer when set on night setting is having trouble recognizing that cloudy days are not night and will trigger even in middle of day. Anyone else have this problem and hopefully a solution?

I'm having an issue with the battery box getting moisture inside and causing the batteries to become corroded. Any such issue with yours?
