Nice job Rick ! I assume you are recommending encap punch over DS 2 for residential ? Also on badly soiled carpet I am doing my second pass with a cotton bonnet. I think it absorbs more soil and leaves the carpet drier. Any thoughts on that? thanks

We recommend Encap-Punch for bonnet cleaning applications. It foams less which helps the soil to be absorbed more efficiently. And it has a higher solvency than DS2. Plus Encap-Punch is CRI approved, and so is the Orbot Vibe. It's an excellent combination.

Just did a commercial carpet. I pre spray Encap Punch waited 10 min then went over it with my Vibe with DS2 solution with fiber tan pads. Was impressed how it came out. The other half of carpet i used my water extraction 200 psi portable unit with heat. And couldn't see the difference. But still need my portable unit for the edges. But at least it cuts my time in half by using the vibe for the main section of carpets.

I love your "blended" approach. Mixing encap along with HWE is a practical way to increase efficiency. We recommend aa variation of this approach to our customers who perform HWE.... Pre-scrub the entire carpet with Encap-Punch. And then rinse the primary sections of the carpet that are more soiled with HWE. The encapsulation provided by Encap-Punch is completely sufficient for the peripheral areas that aren't heavily soiled. Thanks for the feedback. Rather than adding peroxide to Encap-Punch, I'd recommend going with Encap-HydrOx instead. Adding peroxide to Encap-Punch would compromise the crystalization/encap process. Encap-HydrOx is a powerhouse peroxide-based detergent that crystallizes perfectly. Encap-HydrOx is very popular because of its peroxide performance and true encapsulation properties.

On a carpet like this would it be safe to use a fiberplus pad or a microfiber scrub bonnet if the carpet were heavily soiled? What about with a lighter machine like the Oreck Orbiter?

On a cut pile residential carpet we recommend the Microfiber Glide bonnets. Rather than using a more aggressive pad, it's better to mix your Encap-Punch at 12 oz per gallon and use it as a pre-spray, prior to cleaning with the Vibe in the normal manner. Allowing some additional dwell time with the pre-spray will soften the heavy soil.

The Vibe works great on ALL types of residential carpet. The only factors to keep in mind are... 1. Keep the bonnet damp (we recommend using the soft microfiber Glide Bonnets on residential carpet). 2. Keep the carpet well lubricated (with a product suited for bonnet cleaning like Encap-Punch). 3. Keep the machine moving, avoiding standing in one place with the machine, since that could distort carpet pile. Wheels down will make it less controllable than a traditional "side-beside" 175 rotary. If you're loving the idea of using a rotary machine, I think the standard version will serve you best. But a Cimex, Orbital, or CRB serve you even better.

It can be removed, but it's bolted onto the handle, so removal would leave the machine without a spray option. In other words, the tank isn't something you could remove and reinstall on the fly if that's what you were considering.

No, the Dirt Napper would not work on an orbital machine. There's too much agitation at 1725 oscillations per minute. The Dirt Napper is suited for a standard 175 rpm rotary machine.

The Vibe has a 17" driver and a 19" orbital throw. So you can run 17-21 inch pads/bonnets. Most people generally run 19" microfiber bonnets on the Vibe / which provides an inch of overlap on all sides of the driver.

Not in this case since the carpet wasn't heavily soiled. In fact, in most situations simply running the Encap-Punch through the spray system on the machine is all that will be needed. Keep in mind... Encap-Punch is a powerful Encap PRE-SPRAY / Bonnet Cleaner / HWE Rinse Detergent - with sufficient firepower to nail the soil load.

The Vibe weighs 95 pounds. With 10" wheels it's fairly easy to pull up stairs. The extra large wheels really helps the Vibe to glide over mixed terrain and stairs with reduced effort. Much easier than lugging a traditional 175 rpm rotary machine!

Not a problem. If you'd prefer a bit of light foam just go with Encap-Clean DS2. It cleans like crazy and produces a little more foam.

The rotation appears slow since it does rotate slowly. However, it's making small dime-sized oscillations. And the oscillations are tremendous! It makes 1725 oscillations per minute.

Pre-spraying a filthy carpet is a great idea. For light to medium soil though, pre-spraying is not generally necessary. Especially when you make a "wet-pass followed by a dry pass".

Yes, that would've been nice. But this owner has a well-maintained carpet. Since a new person was moving in, they wanted to have the carpet cleaned. So since there wasn't furniture or an occupant to deal with, the opportunity to do the video presented itself.

Try using microfiber bonnets. Our soft Glide bonnets reduce the chance for tip bloom on cut pile carpet. There are 3 strategies for minimizing the chance of tip bloom. (1) Keep the carpet and the bonnet damp while cleaning (lubricated). (2) Keep the machine moving, avoid standing in one place with the machine running. (3) Use a "glide" under your bonnet, or use our microfiber "Glide" bonnets.
