Aha ! That`s Papa Aroha , Coromandel , it`s a camping ground . My wife and my youngest son and I , took our 4.3 metre stabicraft out to those islands in the distance , to do a bit of fishing ; anyway , didn`t catch any after about two hours fishing and decided to go back in as it was blowing about 20- 25 knots. The chop was just a little bit less than what you see in the video , pretty scary , but I had to make it into that creek entrance also , or we would end up bouncing up onto the beach outside . Was I pretty relieved our little stabi made it , the missus was too and said " never again " but I had a lot of confidence in that little hull , strong as.

Yep I hear those Stabicraft's are amazing stable boats. I just put money down on a 2017 1650 fisher. Looking forward to do some Great Lakes fishing here in Michigan.

I was contemplating buying a pontoon, but wasn't too sure of its handling in rough seas. Thanks to you, now I'm gonna contact Orca Eng. to ask about their fleet & prices. You my friend should be paid a commission ;) Regardless, that nut case behind the wheel must have gone in there to save those people he brought back. Hats off to him. Excellent stuff.

Nice footage!! Is it possible for me to use and share this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit will be given to the owner of the footage. Looking forward to your reply. Kind regards. Cheers.

For people who only knows traditional pontoon boats for lakes, this boat has pontoons integrated into a traditional V hull. visit stabicraft.co.nz and see for yourself.

That sure didn't look like a pontoon boat to me

One guy goes out and half a dozen come back in, was this a rescue mission? this looks like a stabicraft alloy pontoon, unsinkable boats, made here in new zealand, they handle rough weather easily, wouldnt be able to do this in a mono hull of that size easily or wouldnt dare to myself

don't be fooled the most dangerous part is coming in with the waves behind you, if you let one come too close from behind you it'll swing you around and over in a second. game over. they put a lot of trust in a single engine, I would have twins or not at all.

Not wearing life jackets in that kind of weather? They must be "tough guys" that think they could survive if they fell overboard. Good luck.
@kingachybraky6 жыл бұрын
Maybe they are smart guys that know several floatation device coats will keep you warm and afloat if you fall in. They are also more comfortable than life jackets.
