Wild orcas can have collapsed dorsal fins too... and it doesn’t necessarily mean something’s wrong with them.
@darcyrosewilson3 жыл бұрын
It rarely happens in the wild. Dorsal fin collapsing usually is from captivity 😒 because they swim in hundreds of miles of ocean really fast and that keeps them speeding along. In a 40 foot tank, they can't go fast, they can't dive deep and they can't hunt. They are fed dead fish 😔
@egunezasca20363 жыл бұрын
@@interstellar0001 When you swim miles and miles you exercise you muscles. In the wild they do exercise way more. Plus, that is collagen. Collagen collapses when is exposed to heat. Wild orcas dive under many miles where water is much cooler and regulate their high body temperature through this fin. That's why you rarely see wild orcas (maybe New Zealand) with almost a total collapse of their top fin.
@Gemnist983 жыл бұрын
@@darcyrosewilson It’s actually believed to not be from a lack of mobility but due to the climate. While orcas are present in all the oceans, they tend to prefer colder northern waters. Meanwhile, all three SeaWorld parks are in Southern US cities, with two being on the coast.

Climate change is really happening, pollution is getting out of hand, animals are going endangered/extinct, the SRKWs are dying due to low food population, there are traveling marine mammal circuses, and there are facilities that house either one orca or one orca with dolphins. Do you really think that Seaworld is that bad where in some countries dolphins are jumping through fire hoops, orcas are living ALONE in small tanks, and animal populations are going down? Not to mention Seaworld is actually trying to save the SRKWs along with other animal species. It is scary how blind people can really be.

Soso Lydia that is not true at all. Those whales live in a family group. Kalia, Nakai, and Makani are all siblings. Kalia has a daughter named Amaya and her father Ulises. Shouka & Orkid are adopted aunts as they are really close with the Kalia family. Ikaika, Corky, and Keet are all really good friends too. The whales are always kept in one or two pools with some or all of their family/friends. Not to mention that the whales get 24/7 attention from any of the trainers. They are feed everyday no matter what, and they are give all types of enrichment. How are they miserable?
@gabrieladoglover76075 жыл бұрын
Orcinus Footage just because they live together with friends and family and get attention from their trainers doesn't mean they live a good life think about all the tricks they are forced to perform over and over again at shows with the music so loud and if they don't perform they don't get fish. The pools aren't even deep enough for them so they can get away from the suns rays and the chlorine from the pools is really painful for their eyes. They get so stressed they start chewing on the metal gates and the concrete and then have to get their teeth drilled. Imagine you being that orca I think that would be a miserable life you guys don't think it's miserable because you are not the one who is actually suffering!
@orcinusfootages17725 жыл бұрын
Gabriela Dog Lover you make me laugh so hard with your so called “evidence.” Your excuses are pathetic. Sorry. You anti caps always claim that the whales don’t live with their family, and you guys always claim about not getting attention so I simply told you what you needed to hear. You are a dog owner right? So do you force your dog to sit at every stop sign, to shake, to roll over, and to not jump? Do you STARVE them to make them do those things? Do you FORCE them? I don’t think so. The trainers are just like you. They do what is best for the animals they love. Just like you the trainers use positive reinforcement. Look it up. Oh and they “fOrCE the whales to pReFoRm.” Funny. You can’t force a 10,000 pound animal to do anything. If you think you can then, your pretty idiotic. Sorry. I suggest you check out Tilikum16’s footage of the whales not wanting to preform. Do you see the trainers screaming or hitting them to preform? I don’t think so. I will put links below. Most wild orcas only dive 100 feet. And that is due to hunting. Captive orcas don’t need to forage for food nor hunt. Orcas have a protective layer of liquid that covers their eye. That liquid protects their eye from sun rays and stuff in the water. If the sun hurts their eyes why do wild orcas swim on their sides with the sun rays hitting them? You make no sense whatsoever. Their teeth are drilled to prevent cavities. Something that wild orcas get too. Imagine believing the lies that cake out of John Hargrove’s mouth. Yikes! Your dog is suffering. Holding it captive in your backyard. Putting it on a leash. The thing has no freedom!!

@ritasvay3125 Жыл бұрын
Btw, Seaworld does not do such things. They save animals that are hurt, then release them back. They do not just save them and keep them. The reason why you see animals there is because the animal cannot return back to the ocean because they might’ve been badly injured, and it stops them to be living a normal life in the ocean. For example, it stops them from hunting, and stops them from getting away from fast predators that want to eat them. If they were to release the damage animal back to the wild, it will just the sacrificing the animal.😅

It really pisses me off seeing a orca dorsal fin flopped like tht
@FreddyFazbear-mn7lj5 ай бұрын
Seaworld treats there animals so badly the orcas collapsed fins means they don't habe enough space.
@MothyGoober4 ай бұрын
It doesn’t mean that look it up. If you’re too lazy read this! overheating of fin tissue due to warmer water and air temperatures, stress due to changes in diet, reduced activity that causes low blood pressure, or age
@lbabytutorials48524 ай бұрын
No it means they spend most there time at the surface and gravity eventually pulls at the dorsal fin of male orcas that can grow up to 6 ft tall

they look so happy but they are suffering. starving. forced into tiny unfamiliar surroundings. if they dont perform, they dont eat. their trainers keep them hungry so they will perform. so they look happy and eager to perform but they are not. and through it all, they still love people. there is a story about the orca who was in free willy. they actually did let him go eventually. but he didnt want to leave his people. so it got to the point where the people were told to ignore him, dont make eye contact. leave him alone so that he will eventually get the point and find his own pod. well, it worked. he eventually did leave but it didnt work out the way specialists predicted. this orca never lost his love for people. eventually they found him off the coast of norway. he had befriended all the humans who visited the area. one thing we need to understand is that these creatures love people. we cant just ignore them. it doesnt work like it does with other wild animals. they dont forget human contact like other animals do when they are put back into the wild. we need to understand that they love us and not take advantage of it. there is nothing wrong with human and orca friendships. its not the same as feeding bears in the wild. these animals are extremely intelligent and capable of building friendships with people

@@redmercury1159 You said they are unhappy and starving? Half of them like Kalia, Amaya, etc. was born in captivity. And also, they are not unhappy, there are plenty of footages of them playing in backpool, practicing, wanting a kiss from their trainers. Search it all up. Number one you should search up, Tilikum and Trua Playing, and do not comment on CetusCetus video or she will report and block you.

Been to SeaWorld many times. They never starve their animals. And I've never seen them alone. They are kept together with their pods. Even in Orlando they keep babies, moms and grandmas together in their dolphin nursery. They are also born in captivity and haven't collected from the wild since 1980. Also taking a captive animal to the wild is dangerous and a health hazard to the animal because they'd be exposing them to things they aren't familiar with and have never been expose to.
