Orchha Jahangir Mahal Palace - Frank & Jen Travel India 14

Built in the 17th century by Orchha ruler Vir Singh Deo in honour of Mughal emperor Jahangir, the Jahangir Mahal is a massive castle of architectural beauty. Unfortunately Jen was down with the Delhi Belly, so Frank checked out the palace complex himself.
From high up in Jahangir Mahal, one could see many of Orchha's ancient landmarks. The camera was put into overdrive taking stupendous HDR panoramas of the countryside, and there were few tourists to obstruct the view. If there was one tourist destination in India that could be considered serene, Orchha must be it. Stay tuned for more palaces and temples of Orchha!

This is not Mughal architecture, this is rajput architecture...

Fake story. The temples and other palace structures were built before this structure and have Kshatriya Hindu architecture. Anyway who would spend so many years building a palace, only to name it after an enemy. What does the architecture look like in the country where the Mughals originated from? Evidence of domed structures go back to more than 2000 years according to the bas reliefs at archeological sites throughout the subcontinent. The people who new how to construct in this style were captured and taken to central Asia where they replicated the architecture for the slave masters.
