Hey guys! Just thought I'd clarify something I said here, as I did a bit more research after filming, and don't want what I said to be misleading! I speculate here about the Monnierara having male and female parts and therefore a 'perfect' flower, because I couldn't find a single picture of a female flower, only one flower form seems to be present. Since it is 50% Mormodes, which have 'perfect' flowers, I came to the conclusion it had taken after the Mormodes parent. However, after more research it seems to be a sterile hybrid, so maybe it isn't correct to say either way? I can't confirm the accuracy of this but there are no registered hybrids for it either.... Sorry if I was misleading at all! If anyone has more info I'd love to hear more! 🙂 Orchidroots profile: bluenanta.com/detail/100116398/hybrid/?tab=sum Thanks for watching! 🙂

I'd love to see the Cleisocentron crossed with one of the more purpley-blue big vandas like the Bai Blue or Royal Blue -- or maybe even a Phalaenopsis like a particularly blue Violacea :o

Once again you have great wonderful orchids. Awesome. The Monnierara Millennium Magic "witchcraft" is on my wish list. The only thing that is stopping me from getting a catesetium orchid is they are prone to spider mites. So we shall see. Especially if I would grow them indoors. All the blooms are gorgeous and like I have mentioned you are a great grower and teacher. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Kim! (I'm sorry if you aren't Kim and I'm guessing wrong!) Thankyou 💗 Yes, spider mites have been a real issue for me with them this year 😥 I need to be more proactive next year. Luckily they lose their leaves so the damage doesn't carry over anyway 😅 Thanks for watching!!

My triple M is still in bud... Last year I provided the care that you just related and this year it had two large spikes I lost one long Spike mistakenly spraying them for fungus gnats I didn't realize my alcohol was the 99% industrial strength.... Being more vigilant about reading labels now.. These flowers are stunning
@sheries53634 жыл бұрын
My MMM is in spike right now. Last year it grew two nice spikes, one bloomed before the second, so I had nicely prolonged bloom time. BUT, I have never detected any scent from my plant. Maybe my nose?👃 When it blooms this time, I’m going to try my best to detect any scent throughout the bloom period, at various times of day, and I will probably ask a friend or two to give it a deep sniff to see if it is just me. 😂 Regardless, a beautiful and unique bloom. 😍 I have the cleisocentron on my wish list, but I live in a warm climate, so it could be a real struggle. It might just stay on the list and not in my care until I move house. 🤔

These are all so stunning! Your spotlight videos are some of my favorites. Do you think the Millennium Magic 'Witchcraft' would be a good first catasetum-type to try?
@TheOrchidRoom4 жыл бұрын
Hi Olya! Thankyou! I saw a comment from you a while ago about the tolumnia that I can't find now, sorry, but I saw it and thankyou for remembering 🙂 I think it would be a good first catasetum type, it's new growth this year is double the size of the one I got it with, and that's with very little effort on my part! Thankyou for watching 🙂💗

I also have a Cleisocentron, Tough to get any information about them!!!

Mine lived in a cooler room iver winter and didn't grow much so I've just moved them to a warmer location- all the info out there that I can find says cooler and moist, but I think they're actually more comfortable at the lower end of intermediate. They're still alive and have good roots 🙂

Yesss you have to get it if you like almond smells, I dont know if you ever smelled it, but there was this L'Oréal kids 2 in 1 shampoo, cherry almond flavour, that I used to use well above when I was a kid because of the smell. The Coelia bella smells just like that! 🙂💗

My Monnierara Millennium Magic is in bud and will bloom soon. All of the buds look different, like some are warped looking and some buds normal looking and tighter. Hopefully all of them will open, but I'm curious if the funky buds are due to it being a first time bloomer for me
@TheOrchidRoom4 жыл бұрын
A few of my buds blasted because I let it dry out a few times, I'm not sure if that helps at all but it definitely fusses when it has buds! I hope all of yours open OK! 💗

@@TheOrchidRoom thank you!! Good advice! I watered twice a week, but my temps got really high this summer, so must've been that. On the bright side they opened up yesterday! Two blasted, but it's ok. Love your videos, you have me experimenting with self watering semi hydro + pebbles ♥️

Beautiful blooms👏👏! Which orchid did you pollinate with the Cleisocentron merrillianum x gokusingii🤔?
@TheOrchidRoom4 жыл бұрын
I pollinated 6 or so orchids, waiting to see what takes, so far 5 of 6 have dropped. One potential phal cross but it'll probably abort!
@TheOrchidRoom4 жыл бұрын
The one remaining is Phalaenopsis Su's Glad Kid 'Blue' x Cleisocentron merrillianum x gokusingii. It's swollen alot but they can often drop in the first few weeks. Probably unlikely to make it, but initial signs are promising at least.

On the subject of blue orchids, maybe you should try to get a Dendrobium parvulum? The flowers are absolutely tiny, the plant is absolutely tiny.
