Over time I would reduce the amount of water gradually until it is semi hydro. You could also add some bone pieces like horns or pieces of bone from various sources. It removes the need to add calcium fertilizer and last forever. I like this video a lot.

Yes! Try as an experiment first. They grow better in bark but WC is cute and EASY to maintain. Keep me posted. Happy Growing from your PhalPal Durrell ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏿🇺🇸

Hi 😊you never give your orchids in Walter culture dry days ? Im a little scared to leave Them in water for too Long
@OrchidsforDummies3 жыл бұрын
Don’t be afraid. Make sure that you keep it clean and keep it cute. Only when I have to cut or damage the roots is when I’d let them have a dry day but yes mine in water 24/7 I’m trying to eliminate water changes. I change my water once a week. Any questions let me know. Happy Growing from your PhalPal Durrell ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏿🇺🇸

I live in Hawaii, I have some very sick orchids in w/c just recently, I’m surprised by how much water you use! I thought to be 24 / 7 w/c you only want a tad bit of water? You hear so many different things, I’m so confused and these baby’s are in rapid rescue mode, it’s sad really...... my humility is very high in Hawaii. Can you help? With the water level confusion and the rare dry days? I have watched several of your videos, trust and others and my head is spinning. Some bottom leaves are turning yellow fast, and they don’t have many, it might be from their surgery I had to perform lol. Aloha!

Thank you so much for your time. In my upcoming Video I actually mention that. There is no wrong or right way. The main thing is stability. You must choose one channel to listen to. The bottom leaves dropping is normal as the orchid must use those leaves to produce new roots, then you can fertilize and grow new leaves. I can't explain the other channel methods but my orchids are in water 24/7 the bottom of them stem must stay wet with my care. Not the entire base but just the very tip of the base. Any more questions, let me know! Happy Growing from your PhalPal Durrell.
