I'm fairly new to orchid collecting. My only keiki producer actually created her keiki in her roots under the media. Nothing was wrong with the plant that I have yet discovered. The keiki had four roots, so I separated it from the parent and am trying to grow it in a humidity pot. So far, so good! I found it when I rebooted the parent plant. I still have no idea why she made a clone of herself, though. She's very healthy. Good luck with this phal. From what I've seen, a terminal spike is slow but certain death. I have no experience to back this up, though.

A terminal Keiki is not a good thing, the plant will not recover though it may live a couple of more years. If you really like the flowers then you would want the keikis to put out roots. My would suggest removing all of the flowers, the dead and the dead leaves and continue the care that you have been giving it. I, personally, have never had any luck with keiki paste and I am not sure if it would induce root growth. Good luck with your plant.

This plant looks terrible. It looks like it's worth saving.

Lol, it definitely does not look very aesthetic but at least it’s alive 🤣

Just a thought... Would applying Keiki paste on the rootless Keikis induce roots ?
