🦒🙋❤️🙌 What a stunning 😲 display of blooms!!! The warm colors of Ansellia are really amazing. I am surprised to see how susceptible monachica is, who would've thought? I mean, in a warm climate like yours. In my case I cannot mist, not even indoors. Did I ever say that my climate is cool? It is, but not this week, we are having a heat wave, having started yesterday. I went to Lisbon for the day, 38 C there and apparently there were 35C where I live. The fact is, when I came back at 7 pm, temperature in my pátio was 32C. Much appreciated for a change. 35C forecast for today too. A drastic reduction in humidity, of course. Enjoying it while it lasts 😄, this is a rare occurance in my area and not for long. Have yourself a warm sunny day vecina favorita, much love to you and yours 😍😘🤗

FFF 😍🙌🏼🥰💐 Been busy... trying to keep up with the blooms to film them, in between the wind, when possible! I lost some without filming them for BFY, which is a shame, but the conditions were just terrible. Still, I am glad that those that did make it, are here for us to enjoy and thank you so much for watching... you have seen all these blooms before and yet, you still took the time to watch! Thank you, amiga mia, your support is incredible and means so much to me 🙏🏼 I am envious of your temperatures 🤪 I had / am still having a terrible day! The only thing I managed to get accomplished was reconnect the desk and fridge to the other property so that I have electricity to work and not spoil the food. I have no water, and well... no electricity. NOW, another pipe broke, but only the the neighbor's property, that is connected to this one. So, the rest of the community has water, except his 2 properties and the promises from last night to get it fixed by today because it was not a complicated matter... that has not happened! I am sooooo pissed off! My patience is non existent and I am having difficulty staying diplomatic! Of course, tomorrow is the weekend 🤬 i better not go on and on, because I can feel my heart thumping and I need it to settle down. I did not film anything today, just in case I get interrupted. I did not go to the supermarket today because I may have been out of the home if someone came knocking on the door... I am livid!! 🤬 so, I hope that you had yourself a beautiful day, enjoying the nice warm temperatures ❤️❤️ thank you for being a friend 😘🌸

As usual, I learn a lot from your channel ... mostly the names and types of orchids you grow. Thank you so much for that. Also, I was gifted a D. Aphyllum - with three tiny spikes!!! 💃💃(on a "stick"). I immediately laid it down on a sphagnum moss bed, and hoping for the best!! You take care, and stay safe. Just thought I would share my little joy with you. You understand!!

Lyn!! HI!! 😍💐 woohoo!!! 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️ new aphyllum, welcome home!! 🙏🏼 EXCITE!! 🥳 Mine started out as 4 little sticks, not even connected together, sooooo prepare for beast mode in a few years! It is such a rewarding orchid, tough and wow, thank YOU for letting me know! We get to be happy together 😃🙌🏼 love it! 🥳 enjoy! To the max!! Thank you for watching, Lyn! Occasional updates will be very much appreciated 😉🤞🏼 have a lovely evening 🌸
Hi Wanda 😍💐 they have been keeping me busy, to get them dedicated while the wind is just working against 'us'! But, somehow we managed to get some matched to names! Really appreciate you watching, Wanda, thank YOU!! I hope that you had a wonderful Friday 🤗 🌸

Hi Jose 🤩💐 it's been a wonderful couple of weeks, Jose! I was hustling to keep up with the clips and dedications 😅 We have a few more to go and dedicate, but I cannot do that all in one video, it would have lasted approx 50 minutes. Great orchid problems to have 🤪 Hope you had yourself a fabulous Friday and are enjoying a relaxing evening! Please give my regards to Kathu the next time you speak to her ❤️🌸

😍💐Sheila!! thank you for also watching this video! Giraffes are stunning and so are many of the blooms that have these kinds of colors. My little Phal Zeng Min 'Giraffe' had the same colors and patterning, but I lost it. Having the ansellias will make up for that loss, because I still have the exotic in my collection! 👍🏼🌸

Robert, hi 😍💐 what! a! treat! to see you not once, but twice on the same day 🙌🏼🥳🥰 hope the the Doc treated you right and that you have everything you need! I need to get my electricity reestablished, and water connected again, seeing as another pipe burst elsewhere and it has affected the utilities! It has been a messy day, and quite the stressful day and I hope that tomorrow things will be sorted out, because... if not, I will loose my mind (again!) 🤯🤬 it was supposed to be dealt with today, because they knew of the issue since last night, but hey... who cares?! Crazy!! Just crazy! And thank you so much for letting Tracy know 😘😘 you are a rockstar in my eyes, Robert! I find it difficult to express my gratitude... but, its HUGE! Sperm whale huge... and just as heavy 🤪😅 thank you so so much! Hugs to you, Sir and you have yourself a relaxing evening 🌸

Oh wow. Nina, I only subscribed to your channel this week. This is the 2nd video I’ve seen and I have to reach out and say I think it is so beautiful you dedicate blooms to supporters of your channel. I almost teared up! I can feel your positive energy all the way to me in Melbourne Australia and I’m so happy I subscribed and have the privilege of feeling that energy. I most look forward to learning from you and your experience, as while I’m experienced in house plants, I’m relatively new to orchids. Thank you for you, your channel and be well 🌿💚

Sharon, hi 😍🙌🏼💐 what a wonderful comment to read, thank you so much!! wow.. how very very kind of you 🤗 welcome!! A warm warm welcome and thank you so much for being here, I appreciate that so much! Doing the Blooms For You is one of my favorite videos to compile and the only way that I could think of to mention everyone that makes themselves known as and when my orchids bloom. I cannot tell you the frustration when buds blast and I have to wait for others to bloom because of bud blast,... it just delays things, but when I get to film clips and show acceptable blooms, I have a great time, so, your feedback saying that you like the idea and it moved you... well, that really resonates with me, because I sometimes have to really focus to keep my voice from cracking with emotion 😬 thank you for your feedback... 'you and me, both' 😅 if you have any questions at all, please ask away! I can imagine how daunting it must be to have so many options on the interwebs when it comes to orchids, and sometimes answers can take a while, or they don't come at all. Well, the only delay in my responses is due to time zone differences, and ... sometimes I have internet issues. But ignoring anyone is never the reason that a response is late in coming! I try to address everyone that is on the other side of the world, sooner, so that they don't have to wait 12 hrs, which can happen, but... I will always answer and as my grandma said , 'there is no such thing as a silly question'. Please do not be shy! If I can help, I will, if I am uncertain about things, I will ask you questions to get a better feel for what your environment is like, what media you use etc etc, and we will get to the bottom of things to make your orchid growing a success, from the get go! If you are interested to hear my history of orchid growing, kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXLTkIWIj9Nrf6s this will give you a background, because, despite growing in inorganic 90% of the time, I have 'been there, done that' will all media that is the norm. So, please know that, if you are starting out growing in bark etc. I can help you with that as well. I will say, right back atcha! Thank you for you! Thank you for watching, for being here and once again... welcome! 🙌🏼 have yourself a fabulous Saturday, Sharon 🌸

@@NinjaOrchids thank you so much for your lovely reply. “I always thought I was born to be wild, but society won’t let me”. This resonates a lot with me too. I tend to phrase it by saying “I’m inappropriate for mainstream consumption” 😂 My main questions are primarily about identifying what I have. For example, I was recently given an orchid as a gift. The label said “Cymbidium Hybrid”. This is very typical, unless you buy from specialised orchid nurseries. I can’t make heads or tails of the Orchid Species site, and googling “cymbidium hybrid with green petals and sepals with a maroon spots on a white lip” - well that’s not really helping either, haha. I plan to go to my first orchid show in a month and I am hoping that someone there can help me ID it so I know how to best care for her. But aside from this, I’ve only managed to lose 1 in the 3 years I’ve had orchids, and this was my own mistake. We learn from our mistakes, so while I’m disappointed she’s gone, I’m more confident about not repeating it. I loved your background / orchid history video thank you so much for sharing that link. Be well 🌿💚🌸
@NinjaOrchids2 жыл бұрын
Cymbidiums are so difficult to identify! If you would like to send me images of your blooms please do so, by email ninjaorchids@gmail.com I can post them on a community post and ask around to see if anyone can ID it for you. No promises, but I have had some luck in the past to help identify orchids from those that watch my videos. Just a thought. In case nothing comes of it, then I am sure your orchid society meeting will result in an ID. No harm trying 🤷🏼♀️ also, if it has a fragrance, please describe it for me in the email and I will repeat that in the community post. Just a thought... never an obligation! 👍🏼 'I am inappropriate for mainstream consumption!' That is the fancy version!! 👍🏼😅 I love it!! 😆

Hi Sandie 😍💐 thank you so much for watching, lovely lady! I had a relaxing evening, watched a little golf, while I edited a video... it was busy but relaxing all at the same time. Only to wake up this morning, to no water and electricity because another pipe broke elsewhere! I am still waiting to have both reinstated in the house and am once again, attached to another property with an extension cord. So, last night was amazing... today the total opposite! I have to go to the grocery store for some supplies because I hate going on the weekend, too many people, but... I am waiting for someone to come and fix things, and am stuck. Don't want to leave the property in case I am needed, can't film, in case I get interrupted because I am needed, so.. today felt like a waste of time. I have videos to edit, so I have been catching up with that, but wow.... what a day 😓 hope that your Friday is going great, that perhaps, the rain has stopped and things are drying out 🤞🏼🌸

You know what is a bummer for me with the Jumellea? That each spike is always just a single bloom. Oddly, this trait doesn't bother me with some of the Zygo relatives (Pescatoria, Warczewiczella, Huntleya, etc.), so maybe it is more related to bloom size versus plant size?🤔 The purpurata striata was looking mighty fine when this was filmed, though still better at night IMO. Now if you want to talk about surprising. I bought a seedling of BC Richard Mueller x C labiata in December. It had a small new growth starting when it arrived and it has since put out two more growths. The latest one has a sheath and I figured it would just be blind. While watering it today, I shined the flashlight in the sheath and, blow me down, there are two buds in there. It still may not bloom, but if it does that will be the fastest blooming ever for me. Now I just have to not hate it. Also my new sofa/couch/whatever you want to call it is coming Sunday. I cannot believe we are getting a produce called LoveSac. You know what a lovesac is? Part of the male anatomy. Anyway, I'm even more shocked that my dad wanted to spend that much on a couch. You would probably like it, though, because all of the fabric can be removed, run through the wash and put back on. No more dirty couch.
@NinjaOrchids2 жыл бұрын
Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! Each spike, always a single bloom, yes... that is a bummer! But, look see!! As this orchid matures, the apexes that have bloomed, send out a second spike 👍🏼 and then, all the apexes that have grown also send out spikes, so depending on the maturity of the orchid, the blooms are abundant, which is pretty amazing and this one is doing so great in it's little soap dish 😅 this bloom ended up lasting longer than the blooms I had last year, so... maybe that is also something that happens when the orchid matures, I am watching the other spikes now and will see if I can confirm bloom duration when the buds open. Looking lush 🤩 ooohhh!!! I hope that your Richard Mueller cross does bloom out! That would be the fasted blooming I have ever heard of from a seedling orchid, as well. How exciting! And, as far as the sofa goes... double whammy! 🤣🤣 I won't go into detail what I mean by that, but ... I love that brand name 🤣🤣 so many fun innuendos to be had with that one! 😂😂 enjoy sitting on 'them both' 😂😂 I better stop!! Thank you so much for watching, and for the giggle! Much needed today 🙏🏼😘 have a wonderful rest of your day / evening 🙌🏼🌸
